LMFT, 12 years of experience
New to Grow
My name is Anna Grabarczyk (grah-bar-chick). I am a Licensed Psychotherapist, based in Los Angeles, California, working with clients statewide via telehealth. I have 12 years of experience working in residential and outpatient clinical facilities, in both private and public settings. My approach to therapy varies based on the needs and conditions of the clients with whom I work. I focus on several approaches, including: Cognitive Behavioral Therapy Solution-Focused therapy Trauma-Informed care Attachment-Based theory EMDR Ericksonian techniques
I am engaging, action-oriented, and solution-focused without compromising compassion and empathy. We will work as a collaborative team, but when needed I am direct and challenging. While respecting the diverse belief systems and faith backgrounds of my patients, I also address the spiritual component of emotional healing.
Having a European upbringing and living in the United States for many years, I was drawn to bring a diverse psychological and cultural understanding to my work with clients from many different backgrounds. There is no other profession that involves such long and endless work of insight into oneself and others. Through the course of hard work on ourselves, which (fortunately) this profession forces us to do, we are able to get to know ourselves while providing reliable work to our clients. To a large extent, we change with our patients and owe this development to them.
I work with adolescents, adults, couples, and families. (Although for couples and family therapy I find in-person treatment more beneficial.) I specialize in the treatment of the following: anxiety (distress from an abnormal amount of worry or fear), depression (distress from negative mood, hopelessness, loss of enjoyment), trauma, and stress-related disorders (flashbacks, ruminating thoughts, nightmares). Please note that mental health abnormalities often overlap. I have a special interest in the treatment of clients who struggle with the following: life transition, family and relationship problems, career burnout, multicultural family, immigration, low self-esteem, self-blame, poor boundaries, divorce, empty nest syndrome, aging, spiritual or religious distress.
I take an eclectic approach, giving preference to CBT, Solution-Focused Therapy, Attachment Theory, EMDR, and Ericksonian hypnosis.
