About me

“It’s time to feel better.” If you’ve had this thought, or someone has mentioned this, if you’ve been putting off getting help, take the first step, make an appointment. The next step in therapy is to begin where you are…right now. Then the focus becomes building resilience, increasing coping strategies, and getting back to living your best life. My resilience comes from nature...my horses, my dogs, a love of hiking and photography. All of these are proven to reduce stress, increase oxytocin, and improve wellbeing.

In our first session together, here's what you can expect

Together we’ll uncover causes that might keep you stuck using different techniques. You’ll get stress reducing exercises you can start using first session. Finally, using person centered therapy and CBT, you’ll focus on resiliency building based on your strengths. My therapeutic approach is tailored to each individual: body, mind and spirit. It only takes a moment to get help. Make an appointment now, take the first step.

The biggest strengths that I bring into our sessions

I have worked with veterans, university students, end-of-career professionals, a wide variety of people. This has strengthened my therapeutic toolbox. It has made not only a good listener, but someone who truly hears my clients.

The clients I'm best positioned to serve

Has compassion fatigue, job stress, and even job burnout been affecting work and home life. I am ready to join your journey to living again. Having gone through the pandemic as a mental health professional in a hospital’s emergency department, I’m uniquely qualified to recognize factors that contribute to job stress, burnout, and grief for both the general public, as well as health care professionals. If you’re a caregiver or have a physical problem impacting wellbeing, we can find a direction forward. I’ve worked with doctors, first responders, nurses, mental health providers, and people from all walks of life to find a their mental, emotional, or spiritual perspective on wellbeing.

My treatment methods

Polyvagal Therapy

A background in exercise science has informed my therapeutic choices. The vagus nerve is the super highway between the brain and the body. We can learn to strengthen and improve this critical structure for improved mental health.

Person-centered (Rogerian)

Just the act of being present with someone and hearing them can create a space for healing.

Mind-body approach

The importance of food, exercise, and supplements as needed can reduce both anxiety and depression. It's been proven in numerous studies and has work for many of my clients.

EMDR

I've been trained in EMDR but I have not taken any training with EMDR in the telehealth setting.

Eclectic

For me, I see the most benefit to clients when I can slip from using Polyvagal theory to CBT if that's what my client needs. I also use Meyers-Briggs, Motivational Interviewing and Solution-focused therapy.
