About me

My name is Melissa and I'm a licensed mental health counselor based in FL and licensed in Washington as well. I received my master's degree from Capella University. I've worked with adults in many different areas of behavioral health from outpatient to residential. I have over 6 years of experience in providing counseling services with over 20 years of experience working in behavioral health, substance use and mental health.

Get to know me

In our first session together, here's what you can expect

Most first sessions are about building rapport and getting to know what brought you to therapy. With the information gathered in the first session it will help us design a treatment plan that will assist you in reaching your goals. I want everyone to take at least one or two nuggets of information or different perspectives with them when the session ends.

The biggest strengths that I bring into our sessions

I meet people where they are at and provide a judgment free, safe zone to go along the therapy journey with them. I make suggestions/recommendations, but the therapy journey belongs to you, the client. I am able to approach clients and their issues/concerns by being flexible, casual, clinical, direct or gentle as I meet the clients' needs. I strive to bring the best therapeutic experience to everyone I encounter.

The clients I'm best positioned to serve

I enjoy working with those who are looking to make improvements in themselves and are looking to find those skills to do just that. I want clients to know that they are not alone and that they can heal. Most folks I work with are struggling with relationships (with others and themselves) anxiety, depression and how to improve in these areas of their lives.

Melissa comes with a very warm and compassionate approach. She will dive into each situation and break it down for you, which helps me as a person to see the bigger picture. She will come up with a great treatment plan and I’m looking forward to working with her..
