LICSW, 10 years of experience
New to Grow
Hello, I am Jasmine Walker! I am a proud graduate of The University of Maryland, Baltimore School of Social Work where I specialized in clinical social work with a focus on children and families. When I am not in the therapeutic space, I am very intentional about pouring into self through exercising, playing basketball, and traveling the world. I am seen by many as a social butterfly who enjoys meeting new people and trying new things. I've learned that to show up as my best for my clients, I first have to take care of self. With over 10 years of experience in therapy and care coordination, I bring a holistic lens to the work we will do together. My approach considers both your internal experiences and the external factors shaping your life, which helps me see the full story behind a person's strengths and challenges. I am passionate about supporting individuals through life's challenges with compassion, authenticity, and understanding. My practice is rooted in a person-centered approach, emphasizing empathy, respect, and the belief that every person holds the capacity for growth and self-discovery. I enjoy working with children, adolescents, and adults across a wide range of emotional and behavioral needs. My clinical background includes working with children who have experienced trauma, individuals navigating anxiety, as well as adults who are moving through major life transitions or adjusting to new chapters in their lives. I take a compassionate and collaborative approach meeting individuals where they are, helping them to slow down, understand their emotional world, and build strategies that make real change possible. Whether you're managing stress, coping with anxiety, rebuilding after difficult experiences, or simply working to deepen your self-awareness, I'm here to walk alongside you with support.
In our first few sessions, you can expect a warm, open environment where we’ll take time to get to know one another and make sure we’re the right fit. Your first session is a chance for you to ask questions and begin building a trusting therapeutic relationship. You can expect a safe, non-judgmental space where you are free to share your story at your own pace. We'll talk about what brings you to therapy, your goals, and what support looks like for you. My focus is on creating an atmosphere of comfort, openness, and understanding so you feel heard, respected, and empowered from the very start.
My practice is unique because I believe that healing and growth come from within. I incorporate each individual’s skills, talents, strengths, and even hobbies into the therapeutic process. I strive to create a space where individuals can freely express themselves and feel genuinely seen and heard. Whether we're exploring patterns, processing emotions, or building new coping skills, my goal is to meet every individual where they are and walk alongside them toward healing and fulfillment.
Finding your inner voice and navigating life’s transitions can be challenging—but you don’t have to do it alone. I specialize in supporting children, adolescents, and adults who are navigating anxiety, depression, trauma, and/or PTSD. My approach is gentle, collaborative, and rooted in understanding the whole person. I draw from evidence-based practices like Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), mindfulness, and trauma-informed care, while ensuring the work is client-focused. With teens and adults, I focus on helping them understand their emotional patterns, process difficult experiences, and develop practical skills for managing stress, improving mood, and rebuilding confidence. I look forward to supporting you in discovering your strengths and navigating life's changes with confidence and care.
The use of psychodynamic therapy can support in exploring the "why" behind thoughts, feelings, and patterns so we can better understand ourselves. Think of this approach to therapy as connecting pieces of your story- past and present- to see the bigger picture. The process is gentle and collaborative, helping you feel more grounded, self-aware, and in control of your growth.
CBT is a practical, collaborative approach that helps individuals understand how thoughts, feelings, and behaviors are connected. Together, we explore patterns that may be causing stress or anxiety and practice new ways of thinking and coping. This might include learning strategies to manage anxious thoughts, challenging negative self-talk, or experimenting with small steps to build confidence and emotional balance. CBT provides tools you can use in everyday life to feel more in control and resilient.
I use mindfulness and meditation techniques to help individuals stay present, calm, and centered, even during stressful or overwhelming moments. Together, we may practice grounding exercises, guided meditations, or create personalized positive affirmations to foster self-compassion, confidence, and emotional resilience. These tools support individuals in managing anxiety, regulating emotions, and building a greater sense of inner peace.
