Seeking therapy can feel scary but you're making the right choice. You deserve a safe space to heal and grow. I specialize in integrative individual and couples therapy for the mind and body. My perspective on therapy starts with the central belief that if you listen to your clients, they will always tell you what's going on. While that may seem very basic, unfortunately, there is very little listening going on these days. When we are listened to and are unconditionally respected and accepted, we instinctively have the right stuff inside of us to figure out our issues. That's how we become empowered . That's how we grow. In our sessions together, I'll meet you with compassion, understanding and respect. And I will use the latest evidence-based techniques to support you in your journey Helping you find that inner strength and resolve is what makes me uniquely qualified to help.

Get to know me

In our first session together, here's what you can expect

In our first session, we will briefly introduce ourselves to each other. From there, we will move on to discussing the issues that brought you into therapy. One thing you need to know about my practice: While I am dedicated to listening, I am also a big believer in action. We can't simply "redo" the same session over and over again. And while I will never "push", I will always make sure that you understand that once an issue is discovered, action must follow. To do otherwise is to just continue resigned to your fate.

The biggest strengths that I bring into our sessions

I specialize in treatment for ADHD, anxiety, depression, addiction and trauma. As part of my approach, we will delve into family history, childhood experiences and traumas to develop a better sense of how you came to believe what you now accept as "truth." But is it really your "emotional truth"? Or is it holding you back from being the "authentic you"? As we build our understanding and acceptance of the "authentic you" , we can begin to formulate a set of goals for areas identified for change to allow for personal growth. That's how we challenge beliefs that do not work and hold us back and not allow us to grow which is so basic and necessary for life. That is how we grow. Helping you find that inner strength and resolve is what makes me uniquely qualified to help.

The clients I'm best positioned to serve

My ideal client is someone who is tired of waiting for change and recognizes that change doesn't happen if you don't make it happen. By identifying issues and replacing self-defeating thoughts with more positive and accurate beliefs, I will provide the support you need to come up with real, authentic therapy goals that support the change that you wish to become.

My treatment methods

Cognitive Processing (CPT)

I work primarily with patients dealing with ADHD, anxiety, depression, trauma and addictions. I have found over the years that most people know what they are struggling with but don't feel safe expressing it to others. So they build a wall around them with heightens their sense of isolation and fear and helplessness. I help my clients verbally process what they are feeling . In doing so, they begin to understand the difference between their perceptions and misperceptions of life. Developing that understanding is how we "grow" into our authentic self and tackle the problems that have lead us off track.

Cognitive Behavioral (CBT)

Often in therapy, Clients are looking for immediate help for a particular issue or perceived problem. CBT can really help zero-in on the issues and provide more immediate support and relief.

Trauma-Focused CBT

Trauma therapy is all about "touching" your trauma and recognizing that "you" are not "your trauma." We will work on developing the strength to identify the trauma you are dealing with and recognizing that it is in the past and should not control your here and now or future.

Alex was a great and perceptive listener. He had some great analogies to help me understand the issues I’ve been facing. A great first session and I look forward to the next one.
