Hello there! My name is Rachel! I'm a Licensed Clinical Social Worker and a proud member of the LGBTQ+ community. Living authentically, I’ve found my passion in supporting and guiding others within the community—including family, friends, and allies. I help individuals uncover their true identities, foster self-love, heal past wounds, and navigate the challenges that arise on their personal journeys.
In our first session together, here's what you can expect
During our intake session, you can look forward to a collaborative and nurturing environment where you'll have the chance to openly share your thoughts, emotions, and the challenges you're currently facing. I will engage in a dialogue with you, asking pertinent questions to foster a strong therapeutic connection and customize the therapeutic process to suit your individual needs.
The biggest strengths that I bring into our sessions
My biggest strength is creating a safe environment for clients to exactly come as is. To feel seen, accepted, and respected. Establishing an atmosphere where you can open up to be vulnerable and work through challenges or over come obstacles. You have the strength to do so, let me help guide and support you during your healing journey.
The clients I'm best positioned to serve
I specialize in working with LGBTQ+ individuals and allies who are seeking support in navigating identity, healing from trauma, and building more authentic, empowered lives. I am particularly drawn to supporting clients who are ready to engage in deep work through trauma-informed approaches, including EMDR. Whether you're processing past experiences, looking to improve your relationship with yourself, or striving to break long-held patterns, I offer a compassionate and affirming space to do that work. Office Hours: Monday, Wednesday, Thursday, 8:00 AM – 5:00 PM (Eastern Time) Tuesday 12:00 PM -6:00 PM (Eastern Time)
EMDR
In our sessions, I integrate EMDR with talk therapy to create a supportive and tailored space for your healing journey. Research shows EMDR can be effective for conditions such as anxiety, depression, OCD, chronic pain, addictions, and other distressing life experiences. This approach helps process difficult memories, reduce emotional distress, and promote meaningful changes in beliefs and behaviors, supporting growth and resilience. Trauma Informed Care
I approach therapy with a trauma-informed lens, recognizing the ways past experiences can impact your present life. My goal is to create a safe, supportive environment where you feel in control, empowered, and able to process difficult experiences at your own pace. Together, we focus on building resilience, understanding patterns, and developing strategies that promote healing, stability, and a renewed sense of safety.
Gender-affirming therapy
My focus is on creating a space where you can explore, express, and celebrate your authentic identity. Together, we navigate the unique aspects of your experience, fostering self-acceptance and a sense of wholeness. I also provide gender-affirming letters to support access to health care and surgeries, helping you move confidently toward the life and body that align with who you truly are.
Person-centered (Rogerian)
My person-centered approach emphasizes meeting you exactly where you are and honoring the direction you want to go. I provide a nonjudgmental space where you can explore your experiences, reconnect with your values and inner strengths, and cultivate self-compassion and self-love. This approach prioritizes your pace, your voice, and your personal growth, empowering you to move toward the life you want.
Strength-Based
I focus on helping clients identify and build upon the strengths, resilience, and coping skills they already possess. By recognizing past successes and existing resources, therapy becomes a collaborative space that fosters empowerment, confidence, and self-efficacy. This approach encourages sustainable change, supporting clients in navigating challenges while cultivating new skills and reinforcing their inherent capacity for growth.
