Hi! My name is Lorena Diaz and I am a bilingual (English/Spanish) LMFT in California, dedicated to helping individuals heal from past trauma and live more authentic lives. My approach emphasizes the importance of self-awareness, emotional regulation, and interpersonal skills. I work with clients to help them develop a deeper understanding of themselves, their emotions, and their relationships. Through a process of exploration and insight, I guide clients towards greater self-acceptance, authenticity, and connection with themselves and with others. Whether you're struggling with past trauma or seeking to enhance your overall well-being, I am committed to providing a safe and supportive space for you to heal and grow- Please, be informed that at this moment I'm only taking referrals for individual therapy.

What can clients expect to take away from sessions with you?

In our first session together, we'll build trust and get to know each other. We'll go over assessment questionnaires and other documentation, and we'll also talk about the process of therapy. Then, we'll dive into the challenge(s) you're facing.

Explain to clients what areas you feel are your biggest strengths.

I am an authentic, curious, and insight-oriented therapist; passionate about facilitating growth and self-discovery.

Describe the client(s) you are best positioned to serve.

I love working with clients who are open to explore parts of themselves that feel stuck. My clients often feel disconnected, trapped, or overwhelmed, and are ready to learn and discover tools and resources that help them heal and thrive.

My treatment methods

Attachment-based

In my practice I integrate different methods of psychotherapy, and Attachment theory is the foundation of my therapeutic approach. As an attachment therapist, I believe that our early relationships shape our ability to connect with others throughout our lives. By exploring your past experiences and attachment patterns, we can work together to heal old wounds and develop healthier, more fulfilling relationships. My goal is to create a safe and supportive space where you can feel understood and validated, allowing you to process difficult emotions and build a stronger sense of self.

EMDR

EMDR is a trauma-focused therapy that aims at integration of traumatic memories so that clients can live their lives fully. Through a series of eye movements or other bilateral stimulation techniques, we'll work to reduce the emotional intensity associated with these memories. This process allows you to gradually process the traumatic event and develop new, more adaptive perspectives. By targeting the root cause of your distress, EMDR can help you overcome anxiety, depression, PTSD, and other trauma-related disorders, leading to increased emotional well-being and improved overall quality of life
