Hello! I am a Licensed Clinical Social Worker based in the DFW area of Texas. Although I have lived here most of my life, I earned my Bachelor’s degree from Oklahoma State University and my Master’s degree from Texas State University. I am particularly passionate about working with teens and young adults, and supporting them through life’s challenges with compassion and evidence-based care. I am currently working toward becoming a Certified Eating Disorder Specialist, as I believe building a healthy relationship with food is a vital component of overall mental health and emotional well-being. My goal is to provide a supportive, safe, and collaborative space where clients feel understood, empowered, and equipped to create meaningful, lasting change.
In our first session together, here's what you can expect
In our first session we will get to know one another and begin building our client/patient relationship. After completing the necessary upfront information, we will set goals and intentions for our time spent together.
The biggest strengths that I bring into our sessions
Like most therapists, I love helping people. My greatest strength is that I will get to know you as an individual, and utilize a person-centered approach. I believe growth in therapy is not just about over analyzing "the problem" but learning from life experiences and current events, which sometimes leads our sessions to cooking a meal together, reading a book and discussing it, or talking about themes in a show you enjoy. Everyone learns differently, so I want to highlight that in an individual way.
The clients I'm best positioned to serve
I love working with adolescents and young adults, but I have experience working with people of all ages, ethnicities, and genders. My primary areas of focus are working with individuals struggling with depression, anxiety, eating disorders, OCD, self-harm, and suicidal ideations.
Acceptance and commitment (ACT)
ACT can be helpful treatment strategy in grounding yourself in the present moment and accepting feelings and experiences with mindfulness and without judgment.
Cognitive Behavioral (CBT)
CBT is a helpful treatment to assist with changing one's mindset to decrease depression, anxiety, stress, anger, grief, etc.
Daialectical Behavior (DBT)
DBT is an evidence based practice to help individuals connect their emotions, thoughts, and actions to improve their life choices and meet their desired goals.
Exposure Response Prevention (ERP)
ERP is essential to the treatment plan for diagnosis such as phobias, OCD, and eating disorders. This can consist from watching exposure videos together, challenging yourself in certain environments, or trying new foods.
