Hi, Welcome to my page. It takes courage to seek for a more fulfilling and happier life and to take the first steps towards change. If you are ready to take that step, I am here to support and empower you. We all face challenges in our daily lives. It is helpful to be able to have someone who is experienced to talk to, and who is not emotionally connected to the situation, in order to help you process, find solutions and to obtain goals. This is where I can be a service to you. I am a Licensed Mental Health Counselor in New York State and have been practicing for over 13 years, and I am also a Military Veteran.

In our first session together, here's what you can expect

In the first session I will do a comphrensive assessment and will be information gathering this helps me see what areas we may need to focus on. If there are sensitive areas that you need more time in building trust or feel comfortable it is understandable and we can note that and come back to that when a theraputic alliance is formed.

The biggest strengths that I bring into our sessions

My counseling style is warm and interactive. I believe in treating everyone with respect, sensitivity, and compassion. My approach combines cognitive-behavioral, Solution Focused, Acceptance Commitment Therapy, Motivational interviewing and person-centered counseling. I will tailor our dialog and treatment plan to meet your unique and specific needs.

Cognitive Behavioral (CBT)

CBT can be effective in learning how to better manage stressful life situations. CBT helps one to become aware of thinking patterns that maybe maladative and it is a common talk therapy and is used to treat a wide range of concerns such as Anxiety, Depression,PTSD, OCD, Bipolar, Substance Abuse, Life Transistions ect.

Acceptance and commitment (ACT)

Is a form of psychological treatment using acceptance and mindfulness strategies. The goal of using ACT is not to eliminate difficult feelings but to be present with them in order to move forward.

Solution Focused Brief Treatment

SFBT is a goal directed collaborative approach that emphazies clients strengths and resourses to create positive change. Assisting the client with construction solutions rather than focusing on the problem.
