Hello, I’m Rosa Wright, a Board Certified Licensed Clinical Social Worker in MD and VA, and I specialize in freedom centered, culturally affirming therapy. With ten years of dedicated service work - especially supporting women, youth, and those on perinatal journeys- I bring deep, holistic experience to our sessions. As a mother with a multicultural background, my personal journey informs my practice. I move beyond standard models to genuinely honor and navigate the unique cultural and systemic contexts that shape my clients' lives. I provide a confidential, trauma-informed virtual space for therapeutic growth in MD and VA.

Get to know me

In our first session together, here's what you can expect

Your first session is a collaborative conversation where you are fully in charge. We will create a safe, judgment-free space and focus on a solution-centered, strengths-based approach. We’ll spend time exploring your unique life story and history—where you’ve been and everything that has shaped you—so we can truly understand your full context. This holistic view will help us define what personal liberation and emotional freedom look like for you, using your unique goals as our roadmap. We will handle your complex story with the deepest care and respect, covering a lot of ground to build a comprehensive picture of who you are and everything you’ve been through, and confirm that this is the supportive, affirming space you've been looking for.

The biggest strengths that I bring into our sessions

What makes my approach unique? I start every session by affirming the strength you already possess. I move beyond traditional, one-size-fits-all therapy methods because I know that your cultural background and identity are essential to your healing. Together, we build a space that truly honors your whole story, heritage, and community, leading to deep, lasting change rather than just temporary relief. We focus on solutions, quickly pinpointing your existing resilience and using your natural strengths as the guide to create real, tangible results. I specialize in supporting BIPOC women, youth, and expectant or new parents who are navigating major life transitions, anxiety, trauma, ADHD, or other difficult challenges.

The clients I'm best positioned to serve

I’m here for you—the dedicated parent , the young person finding their voice, or the woman navigating life’s big transitions. If you feel weighed down by inherited expectations, family stress, your perinatal journey or the impact of the world around you, you are in the right place. My therapy is designed to look beyond labels and acknowledge how your culture and environment shape your mental health. We will partner together to set confident boundaries, reclaim your autonomy, and create lasting change so you can move toward healing and freedom. I especially welcome people of color and those seeking a truly affirming, context-based lens.

My treatment methods

Eclectic

I employ an Eclectic Solution-Focused Model that strategically integrates CBT for skill-building and Narrative Therapy for culturally affirming identity work, ensuring a rapid, customized, and freedom-centered path to healing for each client.

Trauma Informed Care

I use Trauma-Informed Care because healing starts by asking, "What happened to you?" not "What is wrong with you?" My commitment is to ensure safety, predictability, and choice, actively turning empowerment into the foundation of our work.
