Hello, my name is Tara. I have been working in the mental health field for over 8 years. I understand that therapy can feel like a significant step, and I congratulate you on taking the first step on your journey. I specialize in helping navigate life transitions, anxiety, and self-doubt. My goal is to provide a supportive and non-judgmental environment where you can express yourself, gain insight, and take steps toward personal growth. Please note I do not work weekends or after 3pm. I want to be transparent with scheduling, if a spot is open that is most likely the time I have available for follow up appointments.

Get to know me

In our first session together, here's what you can expect

During the first session I view myself more as a co-pilot; you're in the driver's seat. You get to decide what we talk about and the pace we go. It’s more about us getting to know each other and me hearing your story. It's a chance for me to learn about what's been happening in your life and what your goals for therapy might be. We'll work together to identify the best path forward. I also want to make sure you feel comfortable and that we have a strong working relationship

The biggest strengths that I bring into our sessions

My greatest strengths is the ability to create a safe and non-judgmental space where clients feel comfortable being their authentic selves. I believe the therapeutic relationship is the foundation for all healing.

The clients I'm best positioned to serve

I enjoy working with those who are struggling with anxiety in high achievers, trauma and PTSD, depression, relationship conflicts, parenting, divorce, communication issues, or OCD.

My treatment methods

Cognitive Behavioral (CBT)

Cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT) experience is an active, structured, and goal-oriented process focused on identifying and changing your current unhelpful thoughts and behaviors. Learning to talk to your brain or deliberately changing your thoughts can feel strange or unnatural initially, but for many, it can lead to a quieted mind and more useful tools for the future.

Motivational Interviewing

Motivational Interviewing is a specific type of conversation we can have when you feel conflicted or unsure about making a change. My role isn't to tell you what to do, but to help you explore your own thoughts and feelings so you can find your own motivation and make decisions that are right for you.

Grief Therapy

Grief therapy offers a supportive environment to talk about feelings of shock, disbelief, anger, sadness, and guilt, without judgment. It does not mean you have to like the loss, but rather helps you accept its reality and learn to live with it. Facilitates new meaning: The process helps individuals find new meaning, adapt to their changed circumstances.

Today was my first time meeting with Tara and I have to say I felt it really refreshing to have someone be warm and that somebody actually “gets me. “ so I think it’s going to be a good fit and I’m looking forward to my next session with her and trying to work through my life struggles together.
