I have been practicing as a LMFT since 2017 and I am licensed in CA and TX. My professional expertise and areas of interests stem from some lived experiences which allows me to understand and connect more intimately with my clients. I help working professionals gain a better understanding of themselves by digging deeper into their story and gaining insight into their behaviors.
In our first session together, here's what you can expect
In our first appointment, I will ask questions to obtain information about you and what brought you to therapy. I will ask specific questions about what you are experiencing now and collaborate with you to create therapy goals if it is a mutual fit.
The biggest strengths that I bring into our sessions
My ability to relate to my clients and understand their experience, coupled with the skills and training I have to help my clients reach their goals.
The clients I'm best positioned to serve
I specialize in Asian American Pacific Islander mental health and treat my clients through a culturally sensitive lens. I have helped my clients work through anxiety, depression, intergenerational trauma, first generation experiences, children of narcissistic/"tiger" parents, aging parents, grief, guilt/shame, perfectionism, imposter syndrome, work stress, and academic/career counseling. I also work with clients in pregnancy and postpartum.
Cognitive Behavioral (CBT)
I practice CBT with clients who's barriers are their own thought processes. I help clients gain awareness of their thoughts, distortions, and create better thought patterns for positive outcomes.
Dialectical Behavior (DBT)
I practice DBT with clients who's presenting concerns are related to emotional dysregulation or clients in distress. I find the skills to be effective in helping clients gain more control of their emotions and managing stress.
