She is a Certified Depression & Mood Disorder Treatment Professional and a Certified Clinical Trauma Professional Level II (CCTP-II). Her diverse clinical background includes working with LGBTQ+ clients, military veterans, couples, children/adolescents, elderly adults, and families navigating hospice care. Her approach is person-centered, empowering clients by acknowledging that they are the experts of their own lives. She partners with clients to build on their strengths, foster resilience, and create meaningful change. Dr. Hughes earned a B.S. in Criminal Justice from Bowling Green State University, a Master of Social Work from Texas State University, a Master of Nonprofit Management from Johnson & Wales University, and a Doctorate in Social Work with a specialization in Family Studies from Walden University. A proud member of Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Inc. since 2012, Dr. Hughes was initiated through the Epsilon Omicron Chapter at Bowling Green State University and remains actively connected to her sorority. Originally from New York City, with family roots in Antigua, she brings cultural awareness, compassion, and dedication to her practice.

I also have extensive experience working with LGBTQ+ identified persons, military veterans, couples, older adults, hospice patients and families, as well as children and teens.
