I provide individual psychotherapy, couples counseling, and workshops to women and their partners dealing with life transitions, career changes, self-esteem, parenting issues and life after breakups. Together we will address the mind body connection as we work towards healing so you can build your best self. I support people using a holistic and solution-focused approach. I support my clients using a Mind/Body perspective.
In our first session together, here's what you can expect
We will start with introductions and necessary paperwork like informed consent. We will review details about your current concerns, challenges, and life experiences that brought you to therapy. We will discuss what you hope to achieve through therapy, even if it's a general idea at first in a safe and supportive environment where you feel comfortable sharing your thoughts and feelings.
The biggest strengths that I bring into our sessions
I've developed a tried-and-true playbook for helping you identify the root cause of your challenges and create a tailored plan that leads to measurable progress. I am an experienced therapist, with training in play therapy, family and couples therapy, TF-CBT, foster care and perinatal mood disorders. I have worked in a variety of settings including public schools; group homes; foster care agencies; long term facilities and private practice.
The clients I'm best positioned to serve
I am passionate about working with BIPOC people and families using Holistic and Solution-Focused Therapy for Women and Moms Facing Life's Transitions. I specialize in using the Mind/Body/Soul perspective to address issues based on core values of self love, self-esteem, cultural and spiritual diversity, holistic wellness, and resilience.
Cognitive Behavioral (CBT)
Cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT) uses a variety of techniques to help people identify and change negative thought patterns, and promote healthier coping mechanisms.
Couples Counseling
Encourages partners to tell the story of their relationship, which can help them better understand themselves and each other. Encourages couples to find solutions to specific problems or life transitions.
Psychoanalytic
Psychoanalytic therapy techniques are used to bring unconscious material to the surface. The main focus is on the development of the individual in early years, and the therapist and client explore the client's past together. The goals of psychoanalytic therapy are to make unconscious motives conscious, and to strengthen the ego.
Trauma Informed Care
Trauma-informed therapy is tailored to the individual's trauma history, triggers, and specific needs. Techniques like meditation, breathing exercises, and mindful movement help clients stay present and reduce stress.
Solution Focused Brief Treatment
Solution-focused therapy is a type of treatment that highlights a client’s ability to solve problems, rather than why or how the problem was created.
