I began my LMFT career with completing my master's at University of Phoenix in 2009 and completed my full licensure in 2018. I have 7 years of experience in addiction treatment through methadone care and have been working in the most current 6 years at a VA hospital assisting veterans and their families/couples creating heathier communication and making their lives better.
In our first session together, here's what you can expect
In our first session together, we'll start with brief introductions, then dive into the specific challenges you're facing. This will help me create a tailored plan for us to work through in follow-up sessions.
The biggest strengths that I bring into our sessions
I feel that I create space for everyone to be unique and individual along with speaking as you want without judgement or hesitation. I enjoy cussing in session and feel that the eclectic language assists with client's who feel stuck emotionally and need to respond in a guttural therapeutic way with language.
The clients I'm best positioned to serve
I love working with young individuals who are struggling with communication, finding who they are and ways they fit in their environment and also assisting them with creating opportunities where they feel stuck.
Motivational Interviewing
I seek to understand the client's concerns through inquisitive questions and thoughtful interjections so that the client can better understand why they feel stuck in negative patterns of behavior.
Couples Counseling
I have been conducting couples therapy almost exclusively for the last 6 years while working with veteran populations and their families to improve their communication and increase family happiness.
Eclectic
I love to draw from multiple sources of information to assist with all kinds of different situations, whether it be mindfulness exercises to be more present and reducing anxiety, CBT to understand depression more effectively, DBT techniques to be present and not allow fear of separation to impact the client's life or grief and loss techniques to assist with death and grieving.
Emotionally Focused Therapy (EFT)
Exploring emotions in session is highly effective with learning more about the behaviors that drive outcomes and why those behaviors are in charge in our lives.

On our first session I was able to be open from the get go. She was honest with me about her approach and only being able to see me for a few months due to scheduling, which matters a lot to me. Not start with someone only to have to start over in a few months. I really appreciated that and it showed me that her focus was for her client(me) and making sure I would be prepared for that when it happens but also giving me the chance to choose to see someone else and not have to switch again.

Lindsey made me feel welcome & comfortable as a newcomer to therapy. She asked pertinent questions & gave valuable insight when I asked my own questions. Lindsey was personable, professional & easy to talk to. I felt heard, understood & optimistic that I found a good fit, and look forward to our next appointment.
