My treatment methods

Cognitive Behavioral (CBT)

In my practice, as a deaf professional, I employ American Sign Language (ASL) to effectively communicate with my clients. I integrate Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) within my sessions, aiding clients in identifying and challenging negative thought patterns, and subsequently replacing them with constructive ones. This methodology is particularly beneficial for neurodivergent individuals, including those with ADHD and autism, as well as individuals who have experienced trauma. I customize strategies to cater to each client’s unique needs, with an emphasis on goal setting, skill building, and behavioral interventions. My approach is both neurodivergent-inclusive and trauma-informed, ensuring a secure, supportive environment that harnesses clients’ strengths and fosters their overall well-being.

Couples Counseling

In my practice, I also specialize in couple’s counseling, where I help partners improve their communication, resolve conflicts, and strengthen their relationships. My approach involves creating a safe and neutral space for both partners to express their thoughts and feelings. I use techniques such as active listening, empathy-building exercises, and conflict resolution strategies to facilitate understanding and cooperation. By focusing on each partner’s perspective and fostering mutual respect, I guide couples towards healthier, more fulfilling relationships. This approach is integrated into my sessions to ensure both partners feel heard, valued, and supported.

Emotionally Focused Therapy (EFT)

In my practice, I use Emotionally Focused Therapy (EFT) to help clients understand and transform their emotional responses within their relationships. My experience with EFT involves guiding clients to recognize their attachment needs and how unmet needs can lead to negative interaction patterns. By fostering a secure emotional bond, I help clients create more positive and fulfilling relationships. In therapy sessions, I use EFT techniques to explore and reshape emotional experiences, enhancing emotional connection and communication between partners.

Compassion Focused

Compassion-Focused Therapy (CFT) is another key approach in my practice, aimed at helping clients develop self-compassion and reduce self-criticism. My experience with CFT involves guiding clients to understand the evolutionary basis of their emotions and fostering a compassionate mindset. In therapy sessions, I use CFT techniques to help clients cultivate kindness towards themselves and others, which can significantly improve mental health and resilience. This approach is particularly beneficial for clients struggling with shame and self-judgment.

Adlerian

Adlerian Therapy is another approach I integrate into my practice, focusing on understanding the individual’s lifestyle and social context. My experience with Adlerian Therapy involves helping clients gain insight into their behaviors and motivations, often rooted in early childhood experiences. I use this approach to encourage clients to develop a sense of belonging and purpose. In sessions, I work with clients to set and achieve personal goals, fostering a sense of empowerment and self-efficacy.
