My name is Virginia and I'm licensed clinical social worker. My pronouns are she/her. I love helping others with ADHD who struggle with daily life as I am also diagnosed with the disorder. My focus is on building resilience focused on your own strengths. I really love helping members of the LGBTQIA+ community, women struggling with symptoms of PTSD, women over age 50, people with ADHD and teens who are exploring their identity. I see therapy as a partnership. We will work together to decide on goals and a treatment plan tailored to your needs. I provide a supportive non-judgmental space for clients on their wellness journeys.

Get to know me

In our first session together, here's what you can expect

First sessions are really exciting! I love helping clients take that first step to implement change in life for the better! During our first session, we will discuss what your expectations are for therapy. If you aren't sure about goals, that's ok! We can figure them out together. We will also take the time to get to know one another. We will also discuss how your sessions are documented and what information is shared. Your privacy is of the utmost importance to me. We will discuss informed consent, what that looks like and what it means for you.

The biggest strengths that I bring into our sessions

I often hear from clients that they appreciate that I am "so real." I am direct and open with my clients - a strong therapeutic relationship is the foundation of my practice. Sessions are a safe space and clients will feel supported and safe. I love seeing my clients grow and change as they move into the life they deserve.

The clients I'm best positioned to serve

I am most passionate about helping women as well as all members of the LGBTQIA+ community to work through whatever barriers stand between them and their goals. As an older woman, I am familiar with the challenges we face in society and love helping other older women. My motto is "roll with it." If the established plan and strategies don't work, we can pivot. Know there is always more we can do -things are NEVER hopeless!

My treatment methods

Cognitive Behavioral (CBT)

I trained in CBT with the Beck Institute. I use this intervention as the basis for treatment where appropriate.

EMDR

I am trained in EMDR Therapy which is designed to help clients suffering from PTSD.

Dialectical Behavior (DBT)

DBT is great for building skills such as interpersonal relationship skills, emotion regulation and crisis management. I use the handouts and worksheets for each module helping the client develop skills to help them in daily life.

Attachment-based

I love to explore attachment styles with clients to help them identify their own attachment style and how they show up in relationships (both romantic and otherwise.) Attachment styles can give clients a lot of insight into their own cognitive processes.
