New to Grow
Hi there! I am a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist specializing in grief and loss. I work in gently supporting clients through the many faces of grief. Whether they’re mourning the loss of a loved one, processing anticipatory grief, navigating non-death losses (like divorce, health changes, or identity shifts), or experiencing a deeper, more ambiguous sense of loss. My energy is calm and supportive, and together we can figure out how to adjust to a new chapter in life.
In our first session together, here's what you can expect
During the initial session, we’ll explore your reasons for seeking therapy, review relevant background information, and discuss goals for our work together. It’s also a time to assess fit and begin building rapport. In a first session, we take time to get to know each other. I’ll ask about what’s bringing you in and what you’re hoping for. It’s a collaborative and gentle conversation, no pressure to tell your whole story at once. The goal is to begin building a sense of safety, connection, and clarity about how we can work together.
The biggest strengths that I bring into our sessions
As a therapist, I bring a calm, compassionate presence and a deep respect for each person’s unique path. Clients often describe me as skilled, kind, and open-minded, someone who can hold space for both the pain and the possibility in their stories. I listen closely, without judgment, and work collaboratively to help people feel seen and supported. My approach is both intuitive and informed. I draw from evidence-based practices while also honoring the emotional and symbolic layers of experience. Especially when it comes to grief, anxiety, and depression. I’m comfortable sitting with complexity and uncertainty, and I trust in each person’s innate capacity to heal, grow, and make meaning. At the core of my work is a belief in a person's ability to self-actualize. Whether someone is navigating loss, exploring their inner world, or simply trying to make sense of a hard season in life, I meet them with empathy, curiosity, and care.
The clients I'm best positioned to serve
I enjoy working with clients that are open to self actualization. Whether they are new to therapy or have been through therapy before, we don't start from scratch, but from a place of continued progression.
Humanistic
My focus is on helping clients achieve self-actualization and personal growth by creating a supportive, empathetic, and non-judgmental environment. I emphasize the importance of the client's subjective experience and encourage self-exploration, promoting self-awareness and self-acceptance through active listening and unconditional positive regard to build a trusting therapeutic relationship, allowing clients to feel understood and empowered to make positive changes in their lives. My role is to guide the client in finding their own solutions rather than imposing interpretations or judgments.
