New to Grow
Hello! I’m LuAnn, a licensed clinical social worker and Grow therapist based in Colorado. If you’re reading this, you’re likely looking for professional support, and I’m glad you’re here. A little about me: I am a neurodivergent female originally from the Southeast Coast, though I’ve called the Colorado mountains home for nearly twenty years. I’ve been in the mental health field for over 30 years, working with people of all ages, backgrounds, and walks of life. I tend to work best with those who prefer an informal, authentic connection and can appreciate a bit of humor along the way. When I’m not in session, my husband and I run a small sanctuary for special-needs cats.
Our first meeting is all about getting to know one another. Most people find my approach to be very casual and comfortable. While there is specific information I need to gather initially, I do so with genuine curiosity about your story and what brought you to this moment. I value transparency and may share lived experiences or anecdotes if they are relevant to your concerns. I also like to be upfront: I live with AuDHD - it is part of how I engage with the world. I share this information openly so people will know that I understand what it's like to manage a chronic, invisible 'condition' every day, and to help reduce the shame and stigma people may experience. I also want to model ways to unmask and be comfortable with who you are when you don't need to fit into a specific role. Masking can totally delay progress in therapy where we work toward self acceptance and ways to live life more authentically to the degree possible.
I pride myself on relating well to a broad range of individuals. I have a lot of experience working with EAP clients who often benefit from short-term therapy, or become longer-term insurance clients when needed. In my practice, I primarily support: Neurodivergent Adults: Those living with ADHD or AuDHD, including middle-aged and older adults navigating late-in-life diagnoses and/or support. Trauma Recovery: Individuals seeking EMDR or support for past/present trauma. Life Transitions: People navigating major shifts who need help sorting through the "what's next." General Wellness: Those managing depression, anxiety, or high-stress environments. For anyone who is curious if their lifelong challenges might be rooted in undiagnosed neurodivergence, I provide thorough assessments to help identify primary and co-occurring concerns/conditions. Whether we are digging into deep-seated patterns or simply managing a difficult season of life, my goal is to help you open doors to your true self.
I have 30+ years of experience helping people navigate trauma, anxiety, depression, relationships, and life changes and transitions. I am certified in treatment for adult ADHD; I also use EMDR, CBT, SFT, and DBT to provide personalized care. Building a trusting, empowering relationship is essential to our work together. My priority? Helping you achieve your goals and begin to thrive!

Dialectical Behavior (DBT)
I typically use DBT for those who find it challenging to regulate their emotions or thoughts. It is incredibly effective for anyone looking to build a "life worth living" by learning to stay grounded in the present moment rather than getting pulled back into the past or worrying about the future.
Solution Focused Brief Treatment
SFBT is my go-to for short-term, goal-oriented problem-solving. Together, we look at what is already working in your life—identifying your past successes, supportive relationships, and available resources—to create a clear, actionable plan for moving forward.
EMDR
I frequently utilize EMDR to help people process trauma from both past and recent events. This includes everything from workplace bullying and emotional abuse to accidents and phobias. It’s also a powerful tool for replacing specific anxieties, like a fear of public speaking, with more balanced, positive beliefs.
Interpersonal
This approach is rooted in the idea that our relationships deeply shape how we see ourselves. I find this particularly helpful for those navigating depression or struggling with low self-esteem and "demoralization." By improving how you relate to others, we can strengthen your sense of self-worth.
Eclectic
In most cases, a "one size fits all" approach doesn't cut it. Being an eclectic therapist means I pull from a variety of methods to find what actually works for you. We explore what’s hurting and choose the best tools for the job; if one strategy isn't clicking, we pivot and try another until we find the right fit.
