New to Grow
I’m Michael, a Licensed Independent Clinical Social Worker and Substance Use Disorder Professional with a background in crisis work. I work with adults navigating anxiety, depression, trauma, life transitions, and substance use concerns. My style is supportive, practical, and nonjudgmental. I help clients build insight, strengthen coping skills, and take realistic steps toward feeling more grounded, confident, and in control of their lives.
In our first session, we will focus on getting to know each other, discussing what brings you to therapy, and identifying what you would like to work toward. I will ask about your current concerns, history, strengths, supports, and goals. You do not have to share everything at once. My goal is to create a comfortable, respectful space where we can begin building a plan that feels realistic and useful for you.
My greatest strength is combining clinical experience with a practical, down-to-earth therapy style. I help clients feel understood while also giving them tools they can use outside of session. My background includes work with crisis, trauma, substance use, anxiety, depression, and major life transitions. I focus on building trust, identifying patterns, strengthening coping skills, and helping clients make steady, realistic progress.
I work best with adults who are navigating anxiety, depression, trauma, life transitions, or substance use concerns and want practical, supportive therapy. My ideal clients are open to building insight, learning coping skills, and making steady progress at a manageable pace. I provide a calm, direct, nonjudgmental space focused on real-life change. Additionally, I have been trained in EMDR so if PSTD/Trauma is something you want to work on we can begin that process.

Cognitive Behavioral (CBT)
I use CBT to help clients recognize how thoughts, emotions, and behaviors influence one another. In practice, I help clients identify unhelpful patterns, develop coping skills, and take practical steps toward their goals. I use CBT often with anxiety, depression, trauma-related symptoms, life transitions, and substance use concerns.
EMDR
I am trained in EMDR and use it in a structured, client-centered way with attention to safety, preparation, and stabilization. I help clients build grounding skills, identify target memories, and work toward reducing distress connected to trauma, anxiety, and negative self-beliefs. I use EMDR within my scope of training and consultation while pacing the work carefully to the client’s readiness and needs.
Solution Focused Brief Treatment
I use Solution-Focused Brief Therapy to help clients identify strengths, set clear goals, and take realistic steps toward change. In practice, I focus on what is already working, past successes, and practical next steps so clients can build momentum and confidence.
