New to Grow
Hi, I am Stephanie. I am a warm and empathetic provider that believes that you are the expert in you what you need. I offer a supportive space for you to explore and process your thoughts and feelings. I aim to help you give space, understanding and compassion to yourself. Therapy looks different for everyone, and I believe the most important part of the process is creating a space where clients feel safe, understood, and accepted. My style is eclectic and collaborative. I tailor therapy to what each client needs in the moment — whether that means exploring deeper patterns and emotions or focusing on practical coping tools and solutions. I draw from Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) approaches while always leading with compassion, curiosity, and authenticity. My goal is to help clients build self-understanding, resilience, and confidence in a way that feels sustainable and individualized. It might be nice for you to know who I am as a person. I am a wife and a mom of two. I am a life-long native of Missouri. I also have worked as a counselor and therapist in the school system for many years as well as in a non-profit organization and a group private practice. I also have many lived experiences that gives me the ability to empathize with people from many different backgrounds.
During the first session I will focus on getting to know you and your hopes for therapy. This is a time for you to begin to feel comfortable in the space.
I value creating an environment grounded in empathy, curiosity, authenticity, and compassion, where clients feel seen, supported, and empowered. Hopefully, you will feel heard, understood and supported without judgement. I will create an accepting space for you to explore your experiences. I hope you will be able to feel more comfortable opening up and engaging in therapy. Flexible and eclectic approach. Therapy is tailored to each client’s individual needs, goals, and personality. Balance of exploratory and solution-focused work. Clients can process deeper emotions while also building concrete coping strategies. Strengths-based perspective. Clients build confidence, self-understanding, and resilience. Compassionate and collaborative style. Clients feel empowered rather than pressured in the therapeutic process. Focus on authenticity and self-acceptance. Clients are encouraged to show up fully as themselves without masking or shame. Supportive space for life transitions and identity development. Clients gain clarity, confidence, and emotional support during periods of change.
I have extensive experience working with children, adolescents and adults and understand the unique challenges that can come with identity development, emotional regulation, relationships, academic stress, burnout, and navigating a world that often feels overwhelming.. Many of my clients feel misunderstood, disconnected, or pressured to meet expectations that do not align with who they are. I especially enjoy supporting neurodivergent individuals with ADHD and/or Autism as they explore self-understanding, emotional regulation, executive functioning challenges, masking, sensory sensitivities, social dynamics, and self-advocacy. I strive to create a space where clients feel accepted without judgment and supported in showing up authentically. I work with clients who may: - feel stuck, overwhelmed, or emotionally exhausted. - struggle with perfectionism or people-pleasing. - experience difficulty with motivation, focus, or executive functioning. - have trouble managing emotions or navigating relationships. - feel anxious in social, academic, work or family settings. - be exploring identity, independence, or life direction. - want support building coping skills, confidence, and self-compassion. - feel burnt out from constantly trying to “keep up”. - want a therapist who understands neurodivergent experiences in a compassionate and affirming way.
