New to Grow
Welcome! I’m Asia Amway, and it’s so nice to meet you! I’m a licensed therapist who has been working in the mental health field since 2016. I started as a substance use counselor before transitioning into clinical therapy. I earned my bachelor’s degree in psychology from Neumann University and my master’s in clinical Mental Health Counseling from Capella University. I’m passionate about helping clients learn to love themselves, find happiness, build confidence, and navigate life’s challenges in a healthy way. I believe therapy should feel like a safe, supportive space where you can be yourself without judgment. Whether you’re feeling overwhelmed, stuck, anxious, or simply looking for support, you don’t have to go through it alone. Outside of therapy, I enjoy spending time with my cat Magnolia, going on walks, singing, watching TV, and spending time with friends, family, and my church community. I strive to bring a warm, genuine, and down-to-earth approach into every session, so clients feel comfortable, heard, and supported from the very beginning.
In our first session, we’ll focus on getting to know each other in a relaxed and welcoming space. We’ll talk about what brings you to therapy, your goals, and what support you’re looking for. There’s no pressure! You can share at your own pace. We’ll also review things like confidentiality and what to expect in sessions. My goal is to help you feel comfortable, supported, and heard from the very beginning.
What stands out about my approach is creating a safe, comfortable, and judgment-free space where you can truly be yourself. I want therapy to feel supportive, easygoing, and genuine for you. Therapy will be a safe space where you feel heard, understood, and comfortable opening up. I help clients work through negative thoughts, manage stress, build confidence, and learn healthy coping skills for everyday life. I believe therapy should meet you where you are, so I tailor sessions to your needs while helping you grow and move toward your goals. I bring a warm, friendly, and down-to-earth energy into sessions to make the process feel approachable and less intimidating. My goal is for you to feel supported while we work through life’s challenges together.
I work best with adults who are going through life changes and feeling overwhelmed, stuck, or unsure of themselves. Many of my clients struggle with confidence, stress, negative self-talk, or feeling like they can’t quite manage everything on their own. I also support people who want to improve communication and relationships, whether that’s setting boundaries, expressing needs, or handling conflict in a healthier way. Some clients may also be working through past experiences that still affect how they feel today. I’m a good fit for clients who are open to self-reflection and ready to make changes at their own pace. Together, we focus on building confidence, improving coping skills, and helping you feel more balanced, supported, and in control of your life.

Cognitive Behavioral (CBT)
I use CBT to help clients identify and reframe unhelpful thought patterns that impact their emotions and behaviors. I support clients in understanding the connection between thoughts, feelings, and actions while building practical coping skills and mindfulness techniques. My goal is to help clients create lasting, positive change and develop a more balanced and healthier outlook.
Person-centered (Rogerian)
I use a person-centered approach to create a supportive, nonjudgmental space where clients feel heard and understood. I believe clients are the experts on their own lives, and I work collaboratively to explore their thoughts, feelings, and experiences. Through empathy and guidance, I help clients build insight, strengthen coping skills, and develop a more balanced and authentic sense of self.
Eclectic
I use an eclectic approach, drawing from multiple therapeutic modalities to meet each client’s unique needs. I integrate techniques such as CBT, mindfulness, and psychoeducation to support insight, build coping skills, and promote lasting, positive change.
