Hi, I am a licensed Professional Clinical Counselor. I completed my master's degree through Grand Canyon University. I have been practicing for 7 years. I work with children aged 5 and up, teens, families and individuals. I work a lot with mood disorders and trauma and also with people who might need help dealing with stress or relationships. I am also comfortable working with people with a history of chronic mental illness.

The clients who enjoy working with me the most are ones who feel like therapy does not work or does not work for them, individuals who have never tried therapy or people who are currently therapist or in another helping field. I tend to be more direct, I guide, and like to think of therapy as if we are walking up a mountain together each putting in the work. I will always out in the effort.

My name is Lauren Dicks and I am an independently licensed social worker. I work as a clinical therapist and have 14 years of work experience in mental health. I prioritize diversity and enjoys working with all age groups. I am certified in herbal medicine and can offer consultations on herbal medicine. I am also working towards earning a certification in EMDR therapy. I am yogi and certified to teach yoga. I love people and I would enjoy the opportunity to work with you!

I have been practicing as a clinical social worker for over thirty years and I have never gotten bored or tired or even considered doing anything else. I am originally from New York State and got my bachelor's degree in English literature at NYU. I took some time off to travel and then settled in Houston, Texas and got my master's degree from the University of Houston. I had extensive psychoanalysis to heal my own wounds prior to becoming a therapist and, after being licensed, I became a therapist, then clinical director, of a psychiatric day treatment center. After about seven years I opened my own private practice office where I saw clients in the evening and, during the daytime, I saw clients who were referred to me for treatment in several independent living and nursing facilities, and at a residential treatment center for adults with schizophrenia and other major mental illness. Since coming to Ohio five years ago I have been in private practice and signed up with Grow Therapy in August of 2023.
