Hello and welcome! My name is Barbara and I'm a Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW-C) based in Maryland. I received my Masters in Social Work from the University of Maryland in Baltimore in 2001 and have been in private practice for 10 plus years. Prior to starting my own practice, I worked in both a hospital and out-patient mental health setting. Currently, I provide in-person and telehealth therapy to adult women ages 18-70 years old experiencing depression, anxiety, burnout from career, family responsibilities, and relationships, problems in their marriage, family or personal life, chronic health/medical issues that impact mental health, and trauma from current or past experiences. I also work with women dealing with fertility issues, complicated pregnancy, infant loss, premature delivery, and post partum mental health and adjustment issues.

My clinical experience has been providing individual therapy services to adolescents, adults and seniors. I have worked with clients with a wide range of concerns, including anxiety, depression, low self-esteem, grief and family issues. My goal is to create a space where clients can authentically express themselves without fear of judgment or misunderstanding and to empower individuals to present their true selves confidently to the world. I am an independent licensed clinical/certified Social Worker. I first started my career in Child Welfare in various states/levels of government as an investigator and elevated to a supervisory role. I also hail from the US Department of Veterans Affairs in a Management role. However, it is my pleasure to now serve as Therapist and in my private practice. My main specialty areas include, but are not limited to Depression, Anxiety, Trauma/PTSD, Intimate Partner Violence, Grief and Loss, Narcissism, Codependency, Geriatric, etc.
