My name is Michael Holmes, Jr. and I serve as a Licensed Professional Counselor. I have 5 years of experience overall in the Mental Health Field and 3 years of experience as a Mental Health Counselor. I specialize in the areas of grief, anxiety, interpersonal effectiveness, depression, trauma, mindfulness and anger. I have been trained in treatment modalities of EMDR, CBT and CT-R, as well as experience in utilizing several additional therapeutic modalities based on the needs of those whom I am serving and their person-centered treatment plans. Mrs. Whiteside has worked in various mental health settings maintaining her unwavering focus on mothers and small children. As a perinatal psychotherapist, Mrs. Whiteside works with mothers and/or families who are struggling with perinatal mental illness during pregnancy and the postpartum period. Mrs. Whiteside is currently a social work doctoral student at The University of Louisville researching the impact of perinatal mood disorders, as evidence indicates that depression and other mood disorders in parents can have a harmful impact on children, including cognitive difficulties, insecure attachment, and behavioral problems.
