Hi, I'm Jamie. I have been a mental health therapist for 10 years. I practice as a Licensed Professional Clinical Counselor in California as well as a Licensed Mental Health Counselor in New York. I earned my Masters in Counseling and Community Psychology from The Sage College in Albany, New York. I believe in creating a safe, compassionate, judgement free space for my clients to work on the things that are most important to them. My mantra in my personal life is "Remember the Goal" and I carry that philosophy into my work. I work with clients from all walks of life and backgrounds. I have extensive experience helping clients process and recover from trauma. I would love to help you through your healing journey.

What can clients expect to take away from sessions with you?

You will be welcomed with an open mind, empathy and mindfulness. I will meet you wherever you are at. We will spend our first session getting to know one another, exploring your wants, needs and goals. I will answer any questions you may have. Making sure that you are comfortable and that I am a fit for you are my main priorities. When we have established mutual respect and comfort, we will be well positioned to begin working toward your goals.

Explain to clients what areas you feel are your biggest strengths.

I provide a warm and empathetic environment. I am flexible in being able to employ different approaches that best suit each client's needs and personality. Every client is unique and should be treated with an approach that fits the qualities that make them special, rather than with a one-size-fits-all plan. I have lived a number of different experiences across the country and bring my diverse perspectives to every session.

My treatment methods

Cognitive Behavioral (CBT)

One of the most common modalities used in talk therapy, CBT works on challenging negative thoughts, during therapy we may discuss current life stressors as well as previous experiences.

Dialectical Behavior (DBT)

Originally used for treating borderline personality disorders, I find DBT therapy helpful for many individuals to learn how to regulate emotions, including learning mindfulness techniques

EMDR

EMDR requires an extensive training on the part of the therapist, and is used to assist individuals to process their trauma.
