Greetings! I am a Licensed Clinical Professional Counselor (LCPC) and have been working in this field for eight years. I've worked with children, adolescents, adults, couples, and families in a variety of settings and capacities. My experience spans mental health, education, business and writing. I have a Master of Professional Counseling degree as well as a Master of Education degree. I enjoy spending time with family and friends, fishing, sports, reading, writing, cooking and the great outdoors. I believe that we all have a story to tell and, while some parts are beyond our control, much of the narrative is determined by how we handle the challenges faced. I am motivated to help motivate and assist others to take the steps necessary in combating challenges and improving their quality of life.

What can clients expect to take away from sessions with you?

The first session will entail a lot of information gathering and beginning to establish rapport. You'll see from the outset that I care and want to assist you in your journey while adding a little levity when applicable.

Explain to clients what areas you feel are your biggest strengths.

I have dealt with many challenges in my own personal journey and understand how difficult it can be to get up when we've been knocked down. Not only have I been an overcomer on many occasions, I have worked with a lot of clients who have also experienced such challenges and, not only have I experienced them and got up each time to lead a successful and fulfilling life, I am also professionally trained in strategies to help clients do the same. I am a caring person who is in this field to help others heal and succeed in their endeavors.

My treatment methods

Cognitive Behavioral (CBT)

I have been using CBT for eight years to help people identify the flaws in their thinking and learn to retrain their brain. This includes modeling and practicing techniques with the client until they are able to utilize them in a personalized manner.

Faith based therapy

I have been utilizing traditional psychology methods and faith-based methods for eight years. With respect to faith-based/Christian counseling, traditional methods are used in conjunction with the client's faith. The manner in which this transpires is unique to every client.

Eclectic

I have been utilizing an eclectic model which his heavy on CBT for eight years. Instead of just using one method, a combination is used as applicable and is unique to every client.

Motivational Interviewing

I have been using this method for several years. While I initially was hesitant, I now use the trials and tribulations I have experienced in life to encourage others and help them overcome adversity and move toward goals and success in their own personal journey.
