Some of our most joyful moments in life are also fraught with the discomfort that change can bring. Being a teen in today's world, becoming a young adult, parenting through the struggles, dealing with unexpected changes, living though a pandemic; so many things we experience that can bring on confusion, discomfort, and even feelings of hopelessness or helplessness. Sometimes the changes and challenges become overwhelming and you might find yourself thinking “How do I find my way forward?" I’m no stranger to discomfort and pain, I’ve walked in those shoes throughout my life. Combining my life experiences and training while working with adolescents and adults in a variety of settings from inpatient hospitalization, partial hospitalization, and outpatient treatment, I am here to help guide you on a new path towards the life you desire most.

What can clients expect to take away from sessions with you?

In our first session together, we'll start with brief introductions, then dive into the specific challenges you're facing. This will help me create a tailored plan for us to work through in follow-up sessions. We will work towards building a strong therapeutic alliance and establishing report. This session is aimed at providing a safe and welcoming environment to explore your difficulties and help you go from surviving to thriving

Explain to clients what areas you feel are your biggest strengths.

Having worked with individuals across the lifespan , I've developed a tried-and-true playbook for helping you (a) identify the root cause of your challenges and (b) create a tailored plan that leads to measurable progress.

My treatment methods

Cognitive Behavioral (CBT)

Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) is a structured therapeutic approach aimed at helping clients identify and modify unhelpful thought patterns and behaviors. Typically, a CBT session involves collaboratively setting goals, identifying problematic thoughts or behaviors, challenging irrational beliefs, and implementing practical strategies to change them. Through homework assignments and guided exercises, clients learn to develop healthier coping mechanisms and improve their overall well-being. Regular sessions provide ongoing support and reinforcement of new skills, leading to long-lasting positive changes.

Gottman method

The Gottman Method is a therapeutic approach aimed at improving relationships by fostering understanding and communication skills. To treat clients using this method, therapists typically start by assessing the couple's dynamics, using tools like the Relationship Assessment Scale. Then, they guide clients through exercises and interventions tailored to their specific needs, such as improving conflict resolution or enhancing emotional connection. The method emphasizes building friendship, managing conflicts constructively, and nurturing fondness and admiration within the relationship. Therapists also focus on helping clients develop skills for maintaining a healthy relationship long-term.

Mindfulness-Based Therapy

Mindfulness-based therapy involves guiding clients to cultivate present-moment awareness, non-judgmentally observing thoughts, emotions, and bodily sensations. Through practices like meditation and mindful breathing, clients learn to respond skillfully to stressors, reduce reactivity, and increase self-awareness. Therapists may integrate mindfulness techniques with cognitive-behavioral strategies to address various mental health issues, promoting overall well-being and resilience.

Motivational Interviewing

Motivational interviewing (MI) is a client-centered therapeutic approach aimed at resolving ambivalence and facilitating behavior change. In MI-based therapy, practitioners employ open-ended questions, reflective listening, and affirmations to evoke clients' intrinsic motivation for change. By fostering a collaborative and nonjudgmental atmosphere, therapists help clients explore their goals, values, and concerns, ultimately empowering them to make informed decisions and commit to positive behavioral changes aligned with their aspirations.

Psychoeducation

Psychoeducation-based therapy involves providing clients with information about their mental health conditions, including symptoms, causes, and coping strategies. This approach aims to empower clients by enhancing their understanding of their challenges and fostering self-awareness. Therapists utilize various techniques such as lectures, discussions, and educational materials to educate clients, ultimately promoting effective self-management and symptom reduction. Additionally, psychoeducation can help reduce stigma, improve treatment adherence, and enhance overall therapeutic outcomes.
