I completed my undergraduate degree at the University of California at Los Angeles (UCLA), and my doctorate degree at The Chicago School of Professional Psychology. I fulfilled my internship hours at The California Institute for Women Prison (CIW) and completed my postdoctoral fellowship at the University of California at Irvine (UCI). My areas of study and research relate to the treatment and management of mood and psychotic disorders, as well as the personality factors that contribute to relational satisfaction. Moreover, I have worked with and have been trained in trauma-based interventions, cognitive/behavioral related interventions, crisis intervention, as well as humanistic modalities.

What can clients expect to take away from sessions with you?

The first session is usually an intake session that focuses on you and your life story. I will gather information about your current symptoms and feelings, as well as about what you have gone through in your life.

Explain to clients what areas you feel are your biggest strengths.

I am incredibly open and nonjudgmental. I believe we are all trying our best and that interpersonal support is essential for healing.

My treatment methods

Humanistic

I am a person centered, Rogerian, psychologist, that focuses on self-compassion and self-acceptance. I strive to be non-judgmental, unconditionally accepting, and warm, giving my clients the ability to be fully authentic.

Cognitive Behavioral (CBT)

I use CBT methods to challenge unhelpful relational and thinking patterns that have left clients feeling "stuck."

Psychodynamic

I believe that many of our current thinking and behavioral patterns, as well as our overall feelings of wellbeing, stem from our interpersonal relationships. Many of our current connections are influenced by our childhood learned attachment styles.

Sex Therapy

Sex and sexuality are often important aspects of how we define and view ourselves. These aspects of our identity influence how we relate to the world and others. Sex and sexuality are important components to our relationships and feelings of self-worth.
