What can clients expect to take away from sessions with you?

In our first session together, we will focus on some historical background information about you as well as what is bringing you to therapy today. Together we will create short term and long term goals that are priorities in your mental health journey.

Explain to clients what areas you feel are your biggest strengths.

I understand that Trauma is a normal reaction to distressing experiences, and the way each person manages it is unique. This is what fuels me to work toward restructuring mindsets and healing traumatic memories. My greatest joy is witnessing my clients notice the changes in their selves and the way they are experiencing life.

My treatment methods

Christian Counseling

I am passionate about integrating a faith-based perspective into sessions if faith plays a vital role in one’s life and growth process. Do you sometimes struggle with your identity as a Christian living in the world or question where God is in your current season? Is it important for your faith to inform your views on healing and personal growth? Whether faith plays the largest role in your life, a small role, or you desire to go deeper, integrating your relationship with God into your inner work allows you to gain a greater sense of self and a greater depth of spirituality. I believe that the power of the Christian perspective lies at the crossroads where faith and practicality meet. Along with God’s grace, there is also a place for action which allows God to move in even greater ways on our behalf. Using a faith-based perspective, I focus on combining clinically proven counseling methods with Christian conviction and biblical insight to understand your pain points and discover effective ways for you to cope and thrive in your current season. This focus allows for us to partner together with God to move beyond the past and experience true breakthrough.

Cognitive Behavioral (CBT)

Negative recurring thoughts can become more pervasive during times of stress, such as relationship difficulties, life transitions, career transitions, a divorce or break up, grief, or loss. CBT is effective not only for mental health diagnosis, such as anxiety, depression, and substance abuse, but also for general daily stressors. What we think, what we feel, and what we do all affect and interact with each other. The good news is, similar to forming new habits, adjusting and restructuring your thought processes is possible and sustainable through learned skills. CBT seeks to identify and uproot these cognitive distortions (automatic destructive thought patterns) and reconstruct them into positive ones, leading to change in behavior and mood. I utilize CBT to help you: -understand your current thought processes -assist in identifying cognitive distortions (automatic destructive thought patterns) -teach techniques to help you master your own thought processes. The more we practice these techniques together, the more natural they will become to integrate into your daily life.
