Hello! I'm a Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW), practicing in California. I received my Masters from the University of Alabama and have been practicing for over 10 years. As a therapist, I enjoy working with individuals who have experienced trauma, and/or are experiencing symptoms of depression and anxiety. I am dedicated to helping clients manage aspects of their trauma-related symptoms and improve their personal and professional lives. By creating a supportive and empathetic environment, I guide them toward healing, resilience, and a renewed sense of hope and empowerment.

What can clients expect to take away from sessions with you?

In our first session, we will begin by getting to know each other and identifying your personal goals. Building a thorough understanding of you and your needs takes time, and I am committed to progressing at a pace that feels comfortable for you. Initially, I will focus on creating a safe, non-judgmental environment to establish rapport. As we move forward, we will develop a customized plan to address your goals in subsequent sessions.

Explain to clients what areas you feel are your biggest strengths.

Throughout my extensive tenure spanning over a decade, I have accrued invaluable experience in both governmental and private hospital environments. My professional journey has been dedicated to delivering comprehensive individual and group therapy services to individuals grappling with a spectrum of psychological challenges, including but not limited to PTSD, depression, anxiety, and stressors associated with various life phases. Preceding my transition into the therapeutic realm, I proudly served in the United States Army, where I actively participated in Operation Iraqi Freedom, affording me firsthand insight into the profound ramifications of trauma on individuals, as well as the broader ripple effects extending to their social networks and surrounding environment, particularly evident in cases of PTSD.

My treatment methods

Cognitive Behavioral (CBT)

Over the past decade as a cognitive behavioral therapist, I have witnessed remarkable transformations in clients grappling with a range of issues, including anxiety, depression, and PTSD. Through structured interventions, we collaboratively identify and challenge negative thought patterns, fostering healthier behaviors and emotional responses. One of the most rewarding aspects has been observing clients gain resilience and empowerment, learning to apply CBT techniques independently in their daily lives. This sustained therapeutic relationship has continually reinforced my belief in the efficacy of CBT as a tool for lasting change.

Trauma Informed Care

Over the past ten years as a therapist employing trauma-informed care, I have seen the profound impact of prioritizing clients' safety, trust, and empowerment. By recognizing the pervasive effects of trauma, I tailor my approach to avoid re-traumatization and support healing. This method fosters a collaborative and empathetic therapeutic environment, allowing clients to process their experiences at their own pace. Witnessing clients reclaim their sense of control and resilience has been incredibly fulfilling, affirming the importance of a trauma-sensitive practice.

Humanistic

Over the past ten years as a humanistic therapist, I have embraced the core principles of empathy, genuineness, and unconditional positive regard. This client-centered approach has enabled me to create a supportive and non-judgmental environment where clients feel valued and understood. By focusing on their inherent potential and self-actualization, I've seen clients gain deeper self-awareness and personal growth. It's been incredibly rewarding to facilitate their journeys toward authentic living and emotional well-being, reaffirming the profound impact of humanistic therapy.
