Would you like to create space for work/ life balance? Would it be helpful to learn more about the connection between your behaviors, feelings, and thoughts? Are you ready to talk about coping strategies- both those that work and learn new ones? I work collaboratively with individuals and families to manage stressors, feelings of stress and anxiety, and cope with addictions. I help clients develop coping strategies that may challenge past thoughts and behaviors but lead toward the accomplishment of goals. Sometimes, it is simply reminding ourselves of what worked before and getting back on track and other times, it is about learning something never practiced before.

Hello, I'm a LCSW in the great state of North Carolina with 4 years of professional work experience working as a Psychotherapist on an assertive community treatment team. I have experience in helping clients with anxiety, depression, anger management, motivation, self-esteem, confidence, and developing self-care and coping skills. I believe in treating everyone with respect, sensitivity, and compassion. During the initial intake it is important to build a therapeutic relationship while obtaining a clear understanding regarding the expectations of the person being served. Once the intake has been completed it is important to develop a personal center plan in-order to work toward accomplishing short-term and long-term goals tailored to meet the unique and specific needs of the individual being served. Over the past 4 years I have been using evidenced based interventions CBT, ACT, and Psych Rehab to assist the people I serve with reducing the severity of their ongoing symptoms and problems. Taking the first step to sign up for therapy can take courage and I look forward to working with anyone who is looking to take that first step.

Hello and thank you for stopping by. Right now you may be searching for some peace of mind and need help with that. Perhaps we could work as a team to find some good, solid problem resolution tools to help you get that relief and regain some emotional balance. I like to use small measurable goals that add up quickly to a solution. That technique tends to remove a great deal of angst around issues and usually takes less time. I also can and do fit techniques and tools to your specific needs and requirements. My active credentials are Licensed Clinical Mental Health Counselor, Licensed Clinical Addictions Specialist and Certified Rehabilitation Counselor. I am licensed in North Carolina and have over twenty years of counseling experience. Most clients select weekly sessions that go an hour. I am flexible with audio and video, so I can adapt to the mandates of your insurance requirements. If you are interested in pursuing this journey together, you can easily receive the initial intake form, complete it and send it back. Then we can schedule and start our process. Remember that wherever you go, whomever you choose, I just want you to get the help you need and start feeling better. Respectfully, Melody Flannery, MS, LCAS, CRC, LCMHC

I am passionate about supporting people to find balance and improve overall well-being. I believe well-being is not only about mental health but extends to physical, spiritual, and financial health since all life areas are weaved together. I have 16 years of experience working in community mental health, private practice and facilitating groups and 12 years licensed as a clinician. I earned a BS from North Carolina State University and an MA in Agency Counseling from North Carolina Central University. I take an integrative and holistic approach to counseling focused on mind and body connection. My career has focused on supporting people with substance use disorder and process addictions (gambling disorder), supporting active duty military and their families and working with people who have chronic pain and illness. When not working as a counselor, I take care of my daughter. We enjoy walking, reading board books, playground adventures and toddler-friendly activities.

People can make better decisions if they have enough information and understanding about how counseling works. Here are some aspects of counseling and therapy as I perceive and practice it: Therapeutic counseling requires your active involvement including efforts to change any self-defeating thoughts, feelings, and behaviors. You will be asked to work both in and out of the therapeutic counseling sessions. I may occasionally request that you do “homework” (ok-not a formal request because life happens and inevitably it will be that you have life duties to attend to but maybe jotting things down or making notes for yourself kind of homework) by way of providing you with further reinforcement to concepts discussed in session or simply to prompt further insight and self- exploration. There are no instant, painless, or passive cures, no “magic pills”. Instead, there will be ongoing personal and spiritual growth that can occur with your conscious effort. Most likely, you will need to work on improving stress management, cognitions (e.g. beliefs and thought processes), emotional health, relationships, and your general lifestyle if counseling is to be successful. Sometimes change will be relatively easy but more often change takes much effort, time, and persistence. My hope for you is that you grow into your best self in the present and that that allows you to be your best version for your future. Therapy is about YOU and your needs. I specialize in trauma, mood, and anxiety disorders and am an LGBTQ++ ally and kink-aware professional.
