Hi there, My name is Shardae Collins. I am a Licensed Independent Clinical Social Worker in the state of California, Washington, Nevada, and Massachusetts. I have over a decade of experience working with individuals and families with various needs in the field of education, health, and social services. For the past 6 years, I've worked with individuals across the lifespan as a Clinical Social Worker providing therapeutic case management and individual therapy. In particular, I have worked with veterans, transitional-age youth, children and families experiencing crisis and trauma. I hold a Master of Arts degree in the field of Social Welfare from the University of California Los Angeles. I also hold a Master of Arts & Bachelor of Arts degree in Sociology with an emphasis on inequalities and diversities from California State University of Los Angeles. I have held numerous positions as an adjunct professor of sociology, senior research assistant, and as clinical Social worker.

Let me start by saying self-care is the one thing that we can do for ourselves, but is usually the last thing we do for ourselves. So, congratulations for taking the first steps in caring for yourself. The journey of therapy is not easy. There will be times when it gets exhausting but as you continue through your path the answers will be revealed through the work you complete with your therapist. As a therapist, I have worked with a plethora of clients from couples counseling, to adolescent, trauma, grief, depression, anxiety, and mood disorders.

My training and experience range from working with adolescents and their families to individual adults coping with various symptoms and life transitions. Coming from a family that immigrated to California and navigated many life transitions and challenges, I developed an interest in the resiliency of the human spirit and the importance of a support system. Having learned from formal and informal processes, I enjoy collaborating with other individuals and empowering other fellow humans toward their healing. The interventions I use are derived and influenced by Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Solutions Focused, Family Systems and the Pscyh-education references from Existential Philosophy as well as the ongoing and growing body of work being produced by many in the fields of neuroscience and neuropsychology.
