Hello! I am a LPC-MHSP in the state of Tennessee. I am a compassionate and client-centered counselor dedicated to supporting individuals in overcoming life's challenges and improving their overall well-being. Using evidence-based approaches such as Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), and Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), I help clients develop practical skills for managing their emotions, improving their relationships, and enhancing their quality of life. Whether you're struggling with anxiety, depression, relationship issues, or simply feeling stuck, I am here to provide you with the support, guidance, and empowerment you need to create positive change and live a more fulfilling life.

What can clients expect to take away from sessions with you?

During your first session with me, you can expect to discuss your reasons for seeking counseling, your goals for therapy, and any concerns or questions you may have. We'll also review important paperwork, such as consent forms and confidentiality agreements. This session is an opportunity for us to get to know each other, establish a trusting relationship, and begin to explore the issues you'd like to address in therapy. I'll explain my approach to counseling and answer any questions you may have about the counseling process. By the end of the session, we'll work together to develop a treatment plan that outlines our goals for therapy and how we'll work towards achieving them.

Explain to clients what areas you feel are your biggest strengths.

As a provider, my greatest strengths lie in creating a safe, supportive environment where clients feel heard and valued. I am compassionate, empathetic, and non-judgmental, and I strive to build strong therapeutic relationships based on trust, respect, and collaboration. I am skilled in using evidence-based approaches such as Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) and Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT) to help clients improve their overall well-being.

My treatment methods

Cognitive Behavioral (CBT)

In counseling sessions, I utilize Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) to help clients identify and change negative thought patterns and behaviors. Together, we identify specific thoughts and beliefs causing distress, examining evidence for and against them. We then work to develop more balanced and realistic ways of thinking. Additionally, I teach coping strategies and problem-solving skills to help clients deal with difficult situations effectively. I encourage clients to practice these skills outside of sessions and track their progress. By challenging negative thought patterns and developing healthier coping strategies, clients can manage their symptoms more effectively and improve their overall quality of life.

Solution Focused Brief Treatment

In counseling sessions, I utilize Solution-Focused Brief Therapy (SFBT) to help clients focus on solutions rather than problems. Together, we identify the client's goals and explore their strengths and resources. I ask questions that help clients envision a future where their problems are resolved and their goals are achieved. By focusing on solutions and building on strengths, clients can make positive changes in their lives quickly and effectively.

Christian Counseling

When preferred, I integrate Christian Counseling principles to provide spiritual support and guidance to clients. Together, we explore how their faith and beliefs can be a source of strength and comfort during difficult times. I help clients apply biblical teachings to their lives and develop a deeper relationship with God. By integrating faith into the counseling process, clients can find healing, hope, and direction in alignment with their Christian beliefs.

Dialectical Behavior (DBT)

In counseling sessions, I utilize Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT) to help clients develop skills for managing their emotions and building healthy relationships. Together, we focus on four main skill sets: mindfulness, distress tolerance, emotion regulation, and interpersonal effectiveness. I teach clients practical techniques for managing intense emotions, reducing impulsivity, and improving communication. By learning these skills, clients can improve their overall emotional well-being and build a more fulfilling life.
