My goal is to help you uncover your strengths, build values-based coping strategies, and embark on a journey of personal growth. In doing this work, I have discovered that the best way to move through emotional pain is to allow yourself to feel it. That can be incredibly overwhelming but with caring and consistent support, it becomes manageable. It is deeply healing to be heard and cared for in those vulnerable states and to understand that by attending to early emotional injuries, a path toward an authentic connection to yourself and others is not only possible, but achievable.

What can clients expect to take away from sessions with you?

In our first session together, we will get to know each other, begin to explore areas for growth, and develop a collaborative plan to reach your goals and objectives that will guide the work in the upcoming sessions.

Explain to clients what areas you feel are your biggest strengths.

I work collaboratively with you to help build a treatment plan that will best meet your goals and objectives. I also use only evidenced-based treatment interventions to help reach those goals. I will often consult empirically based research that is current to ensure that my clients are getting the most up-to-date care available.

Describe the client(s) you are best positioned to serve.

I place a great emphasis on developing a strong, authentic connection with my clients. In order to do that I work to be culturally responsive, open, and honest in this work. Additionally, I have special interests and expertise in eating disorders, obsessive compulsive disorder, perinatal mental health, women's issues, and trauma. I am a queer-affirming therapy and approach my work with members of gender, sexual, and relationship minorities from the lens that your experiences, families, and identities are equal in value to those of your cishet counterparts.

My treatment methods

EMDR

The goal of EMDR is to help you heal from trauma or other distressing life experiences.

Acceptance and commitment (ACT)

Clients learn to stop avoiding, denying, and struggling with their inner emotions and, instead, accept that these deeper feelings are appropriate responses to certain situations that should not prevent them from moving forward in their lives.

Emotionally Focused Therapy (EFT)

Emotion Focus Therapy works hand in hand with attachment-based therapy to facilitate the creation of secure, vibrant connection with self and others in order to achieve optimal wellness.

Attachment-based

I used attachment based therapy to help clients develop safe and secure attachment as a means to recover from trauma.

Exposure Response Prevention (ERP)

I use exposure response prevention (ERP) to help reduce the symptoms of OCD.
