Hi! I'm a Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW) practicing in Connecticut. I am a bilingual BIPOC therapist with a decade of experience and a commitment to collaboration with my clients. I received my Master's degree from the University of Connecticut and am currently working on my Doctorate in Social Work. I have been practicing for ten years. I specialize in guiding adults through trauma healing with a personalized plan that fits their needs and considers their cultural considerations and strengths.

What can clients expect to take away from sessions with you?

In the first session, clients can expect a warm and welcoming atmosphere as we begin our journey together. We'll start by introducing ourselves and discussing the therapeutic process, ensuring clients feel comfortable and informed. Through an initial assessment, we'll explore the client's background, current struggles, and goals for therapy. Establishing trust and rapport is paramount, so I'll create a safe space for clients to share their thoughts and emotions openly. Together, we'll delve into the client's concerns, exploring how their trauma history may be impacting their current life stressors. Collaboratively, we'll develop a personalized treatment plan tailored to their needs and goals. Throughout the session, I may provide psychoeducation about trauma and its effects to deepen their understanding. By the end, clients will have a clearer roadmap for their therapeutic journey and feel empowered to take the next steps towards healing and self-compassion.

Explain to clients what areas you feel are your biggest strengths.

As a provider, I believe my greatest strengths lie in my ability to create a compassionate and supportive therapeutic environment where clients feel valued and understood. My commitment to collaboration ensures that clients are actively involved in their treatment journey, empowering them to play an active role in their healing process. I also bring a deep cultural sensitivity and awareness to my practice, particularly in serving BIPOC individuals, allowing me to tailor my approach to meet the unique needs of each client. Additionally, my ongoing dedication to professional development and education ensures that I stay informed about the latest research and therapeutic techniques, enhancing the quality of care I provide to my clients. Overall, my strengths as a provider lie in my compassion, collaboration, cultural competence, and ongoing commitment to growth and learning.

Describe the client(s) you are best positioned to serve.

I am best positioned to support young professionals who are grappling with anxiety and depression stemming from past trauma. This includes individuals from diverse backgrounds, especially those who identify as BIPOC (Black, Indigenous, and People of Color). My clients are driven individuals seeking healing and self-compassion as they navigate their challenges.

My treatment methods

EMDR

I use Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR) for the treatment of trauma. EMDR is a therapeutic technique used to address the impact of traumatic experiences

Strength-Based

I use the Strengths-based method to collaborate with clients to achieve therapeutic goals. Beginning with an assessment phase, I seek to understand the client's unique strengths, talents, and resources. Through positive reinforcement, encouragement, and skill-building exercises, I help clients develop strategies to address challenges and achieve their desired outcomes. Emphasizing resilience and past successes, I empower clients to actively participate in their healing journey. Cultural considerations are also taken into account, respecting the client's background and values. By focusing on strengths rather than weaknesses, strengths-based therapy fosters a sense of empowerment, hope, and personal growth in the client.
