I’m a Licensed Clinical Professional Counselor in Illinois, and a Licensed Professional Counselor in Arizona and Texas. I’m also a nationally certified counselor. I help individuals create healthy communication and connection in their relationships with family, partners, colleagues and friends, with greater confidence and self-awareness. I can help you get unstuck, and start to create the life you really want. I offer you a safe, welcoming environment in which to understand yourself and others, and to use the past as a powerful guide for gaining insight and clarity about how to get more of what you really want in the present.

What can clients expect to take away from sessions with you?

If we work together in therapy, I will provide caring, experienced and personalized support that begins with an assessment during our first session. This happens by learning more about your history and background, and the unique experiences you've had in your life. I will work with you to understand your needs and goals for counseling. We will come up with a plan of action together, and you will have time to ask me questions or share any concerns you have, during the first session, as well as in subsequent sessions.

Explain to clients what areas you feel are your biggest strengths.

What I have heard from clients over the years is that I offer a warm, caring presence that makes it safe to discuss, open up, share and make a plan of action. I’m told that my calming nature helps clients feel they can tackle tough issues in a way that’s collaborative and supportive.

Describe the client(s) you are best positioned to serve.

I love working with clients who are seeking to build their toolbox of skills and techniques to manage symptoms of depression, anxiety, or low self-esteem. I also support clients who are grieving the loss of a loved one, as well as other significant losses such as professional, social, health, etc.

My treatment methods

Acceptance and commitment (ACT)

Working with individuals to identify areas to commit to cognitive and behavior change, vs. those aspects of a problem which cannot be directly changed or modified. In doing so, clients feel greater self-worth and peace of mind, and move towards a growth mindset and improved well-being.

Attachment-based

Working with clients' early childhood experiences to more effectively understand and improve the underlying or unconscious ways that negative early experiences have impacted attachment styles and safe, nurturing connections with others.

Cognitive Behavioral (CBT)

Utilizing the most effective methods for gaining self-awareness of how cognitions impact emotions as well as behavior, and the reciprocal nature of all three (the CBT triangle). Work with clients involves developing skills and strategies to improve experiences, relationships and self-concept.
