I provide therapy from a whole-person approach. In our initial sessions we will work on establishing goals for treatment and getting to know you, along with your needs and how you may best benefit from therapy. I like to take therapy outdoors as often as possible and while I do not have a traditional office, like to meet clients in the community, at parks, hiking trails, etc.

What can clients expect to take away from sessions with you?

In our first session, we will talk about your reason for seeking therapy and whether I am a good fit to meet your needs. If we both determine that I am not, I would provide a referral to a colleague. If we decide that I meet your needs, we would set up a plan for treatment including the type of therapy, how often we would meet, and goals for treatment.

Explain to clients what areas you feel are your biggest strengths.

I have diverse life experience and see clients from a strengths-based perspective, not as a sum of their problems.

Describe the client(s) you are best positioned to serve.

I am experienced as a generalist and can treat and address a wide range of problems. I regularly work with clients with health problems, transition and phase of life problems, or those who feel stuck with feelings of stress, depression, or anxiety.

My treatment methods

Cognitive Behavioral (CBT)

I utilize evidence based cognitive and behavioral strategies to address problems such as anxiety, depression, stress, and other difficulties. I work with clients to identify thoughts and behaviors that are contributing to unwanted symptoms and develop a plan to engage in new ways of thinking and acting to break cycles of feeling trapped or unwell.

Cognitive Behavioral Therapy for Insomnia (CBT-i)

I utilize cognitive-behavioral interventions to address insomnia and related sleep difficulties. This includes implementing healthy sleep habits, relaxation techniques, and behavioral conditioning to improve sleep.

Cognitive Processing (CPT)

I am highly experienced in trauma-focused treatment, including CPT, in which I help clients identify areas of feeling stuck when it comes to recovering from trauma and thought and behavioral strategies to get through these stuck points and process trauma.

Couples Counseling

I work with couples using the Gottman Method along with emotionally focused couples therapy. Through these methods, we work on communication, building trust, managing stress and conflict and increasing emotional intimacy.

Mindfulness-Based Therapy

I integrate mind-body techniques to heal the nervous system and alleviate symptoms of stress and anxiety.
