My goal is to be a collaborative partner and a support as we navigate through the process of self-discovery, recovery and healing. I am a LCMHC and I have worked for 5 years as a mental health counselor. I graduated from Lenoir-Rhyne in 2019. I started working in a helping profession role over 10 years ago. Before that, I worked in education and taught art and photography. I knew from my role as an instructor that I loved working with people and helping them work toward their goals was my passion.
What can clients expect to take away from sessions with you?
During the intake session, I will ask questions from anxiety/depression screenings to assess and learn about symptoms, such as duration, intensity, and frequency. I then formulate a treatment plan. With the client’s input, we will identify counseling goals. I use evidence-based interventions to help clients develop skills and tools that allow them to better manage their symptoms. Through follow-up screenings and self-reports from the client, we monitor progress and check in each session on progress toward goals. Clients will be able to use and practice skills between sessions and share their experiences in the session. I work with clients who are experiencing stressors, life transitions, depression, anxiety, relationship issues, and communication challenges.
Explain to clients what areas you feel are your biggest strengths.
I work to meet my client's where they are and hear about their needs. I work collaboratively to identify the client's goals. I engage in continuing education learning to keep updated with the latest empirical interventions and findings.
Describe the client(s) you are best positioned to serve.
I am passionate about working with clients experiencing life transitions, depression, anxiety, trauma-related symptoms, communication challenges, and relationship issues. Your journey is meaningful, and I am excited to share the process of discovery and growth with you. I work with adults, young adults, older adults and couples. I work with various interventions and modalities to offer a client support that best fit their needs.
