Welcome to outpatient therapy. My name is Dr. Krystal Symeonides, Ph.D. and I am a Licensed Professional Counselor and Licensed Substance Abuse Treatment Practitioner working in Virginia. I have been practicing in the mental health field for 29 years and I enjoy helping clients understand oneself and others, while providing genuine support to assist in growth and change. Therapy is food for the soul.

My passion lies in helping others find solutions to their problems and live happier and productive lives. I am a graduate of University of Maryland- Baltimore (MSW) Clinical Social Work, and a graduate of UNC Charlotte (BA in Psychology/Criminal Justice).  I enjoy working with individuals and families, children, and adults, and I have a special passion for helping young adults overcome life’s challenges. I have experience in treating emotional and behavioral problems, mood disorders, anxiety, depression, bipolar, substance abuse, schizophrenia, trauma, ADHD, conduct disorder, etc. I also have experience in working with diverse populations, using evidence-based approaches, and cultural sensitivity and awareness.

As an Indigenous person, female entrepreneur, partner, parent, and constant pursuer of knowledge, I know what it's like to be so busy that your struggles, traumas, stressors, etc. feel isolating. My whole life has been a passionate healing journey to understand how to tap into the body's natural ability to heal itself and share that with as many people as I can.
