I'm a Licensed Clinical Social Worker, who received a Bachelor of Science in Psychology and Sociology from Old Dominion University, and Master in Social Work from Virginia Commonwealth University. I have experience working with individuals and families across the lifespan in a variety of settings to include hospital, outpatient, and community/in-home, both for not for profit and private sectors. I have experience in working with youth and adults who have experienced trauma, relationship challenges, and family structure/separation challenges. Other areas of expertise include career stress and burnout, culturally sensitive identity/esteem building, depression, anxiety, adjusting to life changes, and assistance with improving daily functioning. I partner with individuals and families to explore or make sense of what they are experiencing, and to collaborate on productive steps to reach their goals.

I believe that while the path may be rocky, it can also be fun. I use humor and engaging activities to support a strong therapeutic relationship. My first goal is to create a safe and welcoming environment that allows clients to explore obstacles with concerns related to anxiety, depression, and other emotional/psychological challenges. I focus on building upon client strengths and helping develop effective interpersonal skills. I believe in a collaborative approach to problem-identification and problem-solving.
