Hello! Welcome, congratulation on taking your first step to healing. I'm excited to walk with you and learn what makes you the unique. How can I help you meet your goals? I know first hand that it can be complicated to balance it all- work, family, friends hobbies, health, you name it and it just part or the weight that at times can hold us down. We always here the "put yourself first" and "make time for you" without the how or when. That's what I do with my clients. We get into the nitty gritty to understand how to balance all of the complicated stressors while also remembering and or finding who you are or want to be. I will stand by your side as you navigate, learn and make the life you want.

Hey there! I’m so proud of you for taking this step in your healing journey—it’s not always easy, but it’s so worth it! I’m Dana Cila, a Licensed Clinical Therapist and the founder of Healing Convos. As a millennial therapist, I know firsthand how overwhelming life can feel when you’re caught up in hustle culture, societal pressures, and the challenges of just adulting. Whether it’s navigating toxic work environments, experiencing friendship breakups, or feeling like you always have to be “on,” it’s exhausting. That’s why I’m here to help you prioritize you. Together, we’ll work on: • Letting go of hustle culture: Embracing rest and redefining success on your terms. • Solo dating: Showing up for yourself and learning how to truly love and prioritize you. • Setting boundaries: Saying no without guilt and protecting your energy. • Walking away from what no longer serves you: Jobs, relationships, habits—whatever it is. • Healing from friendship breakups: Because losing a friend can hurt just as much as any other loss. • Dealing with toxic work environments: Finding ways to protect your mental health while you thrive. • Living the soft life: Embracing joy, peace, and intentional living as acts of self-love. I created Healing Convos to give Millennials and Gen Zers, especially men and women of color, a safe space to explore these challenges and find their voice. My approach is all about empowering you to step away from societal pressures and step into a life that’s aligned with your values. I genuinely believe we’re not defined by our past or our current circumstances. My clients often describe me as authentic, personable, and non-judgmental—someone who sees the real you and is here to walk alongside you as you grow. If you’re ready to stop chasing and start living a life that feels intentional, joyful, and yours, I’m here for you. Let’s create your soft life together—you’ve got this!

Hello, My name is Michael Berler, Ph.D., I'm a psychologist from San Antonio. I have a background in private practice and leadership roles at teaching hospitals in Houston and San Antonio. I define the process of therapy as a temporary, guided journey of healthy changes, in a judgement free zone. The other main element that specifically differentiates the process of therapy is confidentiality. Confidentiality can be thought of as a " steel vault" containing anything and everything you tell me in our sessions. It remains locked in your vault; and only you have the combination. There are exceptions to confidentiality that we'll discuss during out first session. I combine the two most effective treatment models that have been proven empirically that these models give a person a "system of change." Meaning these models of therapy have been studied or researched; and their effectiveness data, have been submitted and published in the professional literature over many decades. The first model that's referred to as Cognitive Behavior Therapy (CBT) examines the powerful domino effect between our thoughts, feelings and behavior choice patterns of the individual seeking therapy. The other model I practice examines the domains of the biological origins of feelings and behaviors, and how this domain interacts with the internal way we think of ourselves, that impacts the important relationships in our lives, inside and outside of our family. I look forward to and appreciate those who ask me to join them, as a temporary guide, on their therapeutic journey. As I remain a neutral "consultant" regarding one's efforts to become the best possible version of their internal sense of self. The process of therapy is more like a marathon versus a sprint. Although, also remember, that of both these metaphorical examples have their own time intervals as well.

Welcome my friends. It's a battle in the heart, so I live by the adage that I will be in my own battle or someone else’s battle for the rest of my life. Our days are like the weather and so are emotions. Many days the sun shines, but the rains do come and sometimes a destructive storm hits hard (a divorce, the loss of a loved one, cancer, suicidal thoughts, et cetera). I have been honored to be in the field of psychology for 20 years since 2004. Through the years, more than half of my time was in the Army where I primarily worked with soldiers enduring anxiety, depression, trauma, Traumatic Brain Injury, and all the other usual suspects of psychological distress such as guilt, fear, worry, shame, pain, heartbreak, addiction, identity conflicts, and sorrow. I’ve also worked in the prisons for many years with extreme situations (i.e., murder, severe mental illness, rape, child molestation, drug kingpins, gang leaders). I have seen many miracles. So, no matter what your circumstances are, never quit and never give up! I’m a combat veteran and retired Army officer, a devout Christian, husband, father, grandfather, and experienced clinical psychologist. Let’s get into the root causes of your battle and find ways to overcome, change, forgive, accept, and move upward toward the light. The darkness will eventually lift, and the light will surely shine again.

Frequently asked questions

Why filter by Texas rather than a city like Dallas?

When looking for online therapy, you can see anyone that is credentialed in the state. We want you to find the best fit, therefore, Grow Therapy shows available therapists across Texas from Houston to Austin! If you’d rather see someone in-person, you can change the filter from virtual and find a therapist near you in Texas.

Will my therapist take Aetna?

Yes! If you use Aetna you’ll be asked to verify your Member ID at the time you book the appointment. However, if you don’t have Aetna you can select cash. Our therapists will have their cost of appointment on their profile. Individual session costs will vary.

How does the Specialty Filter work? Can I find a therapist that focuses on Anger Management?

The specialty filter is optional. You don’t need to check any boxes to see a provider. However, fit is very important when selecting an online therapist. If you have knowledge or experience to recognize what specialties you may need. For example, your selected specialty, Anger Management, is filtering therapists in Texas that work with patients with similar concerns.

Why use Gender, Age, and Identities filters?

Finding a provider with a similar life experience can be beneficial because it can be easier to establish rapport and potentially be understood quicker and clearer.

What to expect during your first session?

Your first therapy session is for you and your therapist to meet each other and to ask any questions that you have about the counseling process. This is where you can expect your therapist to do the same as they will ask questions to gain insight into your specific situation. In this first session the therapist is doing their part to gather as much information so they can better assess if they are able to meet your therapeutic needs.

Depending upon your provider's specialty, you may also discuss the methods the therapist will use. For additional information on therapy methods, please visit the Grow Therapy Help Center. Some people feel nervous before their first appointment, and that is totally normal! Coming prepared with a list of questions for your therapist may help. Remember, you're taking a brave step by seeking therapy, and it is okay to be nervous as you try something new.
