I have an LPC and an LMFT and have been seeing clients since 1996. I have extensive training in helping people who are going through or have experienced narcissistic abuse and any form of childhood trauma, this includes verbal and emotional abuse, family addictions, or any early childhood experience that would cause one to feel unsafe. I am also experienced in the treatment of anxiety, worry and mood concerns and work with addictions, obsessive compulsive behaviors and any poor coping skills or core beliefs that were developed in order to manage these stressors. I use practices primarily focused on somatic and cognitive therapy but also utilize acceptance commitment therapy, internal family systems, mindfulness and am solution focused. I use homework and assignments aimed at regulating the nervous system in order to repair the fight/flight/freeze response that is often stuck on due to a continuous history of a variety of life stressors (trauma). This trapped and stored trauma continues to trigger the nervous system to respond in ways where we continue to feel unsafe, even after the threats have passed. By working with the nervous system to release this trapped trauma and find safety, we can then have the opportunity to respond to the world differently.

Hi! People of all walks of life often go through tough times ... and I am here to help. Since 1991, I have worked with individuals across outpatient and inpatient settings, in homes and schools, and now through telehealth. I have assisted people with a variety of challenges--whether related to depression, anxiety and stress, trauma, behavioral control, self-esteem, substance use, life transition, and other issues. I believe in "possibilities thinking", goal setting, active strategizing, and frequent accounting of progress. As a long-term counselor and college psychology professor, I am well acquainted with many therapeutic approaches; however, I am somewhat partial to cognitive-behavioral therapy, relaxation and mindfulness, and solution-focused treatment. I am also formally EMDR-trained and DBT-Certified. There are many therapy options and providers--whomever you select, I wish you the best. Remember--it’s your life, your journey … make the most of it! Sincerely, Rick NOTE: At the current time, my availability will typically be from 5 pm - 8/9 pm during most weekdays (M-T-W-TH-F) and 8 am - 2/3 pm on most weekends. Daytime weekday availability is limited due to my full-time behavioral-health position. NOTE: At this time, I am accepting only adults (age 18 and up) of any age. NOTE: I am offering only 1:1 (no family or couples) therapy. NOTE: I do not engage in any court-ordered treatment. NOTE: I am interested in conducting therapy, not doing work-mandated, IEP, or other one-time (e.g., Drug & Alcohol or Mental Competency) evaluations. NOTE: Though an experienced Licensed Professional Counselor, I am not a Licensed Psychologist or a Psychiatrist. As such, I cannot conduct psychological testing or prescribe medications.

Seeking counseling can be a overwhelming and anxiety producing experience beyond "the why" of what brought you here. Building a relationship of trust to be vulnerable with a complete stranger is one of the hardest things we can do as humans. Chronic stress from past experiences and intergenerational trauma/stress are often hidden or very present parts of ourselves often creating a tangled web of connection within and attachments with others. In partnership with my clients, I assist them in emerging from within themselves with an increased positive connections, self image, self forgiveness, and a focus on their life goals. When we work together the aim is to assist you in finding balance, clarity and focus for your life goals through a lens of healing.

I work with individuals over 13, but specialize in helping teenagers, young adults, athletes, women and those who have experienced trauma. I use a holistic approach to treat mental, physical and spiritual health, believing that all must function well to achieve happiness. I encourage clients to make positive changes, avoid destructive behaviors, and make their own decisions. Improving self-confidence and fostering meaningful connections are essential for everyone. For those dealing with trauma, I use a technique called Brainspotting to identify, process, and release physical and emotional distress associated with traumatic experiences. The objective is to access deeper emotional parts of the brain by bypassing conscious thinking and heal underlying trauma that contributes to conditions like anxiety and depression. My passion also lies in sports where I use over 20 years of coaching experience to enhance mental performance in athletes. For athletes, attitude, emotions, and perspective are just as crucial as physical training. My goal is to help athletes improve their confidence, focus, and mental resilience, so they can overcome perfectionism and performance anxiety.

As a former CPA who has found her true self as a therapist and coach, I understand the unsettling feelings that persist in alerting you that something in your life is off and needs attention. The uncomfortable feeling sent me on my own journey to explore the mind-body connection. In addition to traditional psychotherapy and coaching skills, I also trained as a yoga teacher and a Healing Touch Practitioner. As a result of my journey, I came to know how right it feels when you are living in alignment with your true self. Combining years of professional training, with my unique perspective from life lessons and teachings from my roles as a wife, mother, daughter, sister and friend, I work with my clients to guide them through the minefields of anxiety, self-doubt, fear and distorted perceptions as they navigate the transitions and challenges of life. I use a unique approach combining mindfulness, somatic techniques and motivational interviewing, existential, and cognitive-behavioral therapies, along with energy psychology to find the most effective and powerful results. Understanding the connection between mind, body and spirit is my passion and I bring my passion to my work with my clients. I believe that “Life is lived between the ears”, or in other words, that your mind eats what you feed it. Therefore, you need to choose its diet carefully. Together, our goal will be to create harmony between your current self-messaging and the life that you desire to lead. We will find and amplify the clarity, courage and passion needed to create a life in alignment with your authentic self. It would be my honor to be your guide on the journey within.

I have worked in the treatment since i was 36 and have 35 years of experience. My early experience was in the drug and alcohol and relapse prevention field. During that time i attended the Gestalt Institute in Cleveland, Ohio where I took 4 years of intense training. This lead me to find that therapy is not a method for me to figure out the client but a means for the client to gain greater self-awareness in facing their own life aspirations and struggles. I place focus on clients’ somatic awareness, especially breath, so being more in their body so they can try on new physical and intellectual styles in facing their world. I have a lot of knowledge about what is called the 12 step process and have melded together spirituality and religion in my own life. Prior to being a counselor/ therapist i taught school, painted steel bridges and other structures, and was a machinist at a large steel company, that like the many in our area have since closed their shops.

Hello and welcome to my practice. I’m a clinical social worker, which means that I passed a national exam, authorizing me to do psychotherapy after having earned a master's degree in social work (MSW). I listen to you to facilitate your listening to yourself. Let's talk and I'll explain. I work exclusively with people in their 20s and 30s who are discovering and creating their direction in life. Please disregard below, Age Groups (18 - 64) as this how the system is programmed and lacks your desire to grow and change! I understand the overarching goal of psychotherapy as strengthening the capacity for choice - of being in charge of your relationship with your thoughts, feelings and how you show up in the world. Your subjective experience of daily life is our territory. I’ve internalized ethics and theories so that I’m able to be present with you, your voice, your intonation, your expression. I've had scads of post-graduate education and continue to be an active learner. Please note: I charge $175 for appointments canceled within a 24hour window of the appointment; however, Monday appointments must be canceled by 5pm, Thursday. Let’s lean in; the way out is through.

Do you feel overwhelmed these days? Are you constantly trying to strike a balance between the demands of work and parenting or co-parenting, while also managing your finances, your health, housework, and perhaps other demands? In your family, does the caretaking always fall to you? Are you experiencing depression and anxiety in reaction to either a past trauma and/or burnout from stress? My name is Blair Mead, and I work with women who are experiencing what I like to call "multiple-role fatigue". I have experience in treating depression, anxiety, and trauma-related stress disorders common to women who face an ever-mounting load of responsibilities in a complex society, where being a mother or a caretaker often comes with diverse challenges and responsibilities. I also like to work with clients on their recovery aspect of surviving trauma. With this focus in mind, I incorporate various treatment modalities, where healing and recovery can take place through a combination of compassionate conversation, active listening, homework assignments journaling, mindfulness, self-reflection, cognitive behavior therapy, grief counseling, boundary setting and trauma-informed care. I also offer a faith-based approach, where clients seeking support grounded in Christianity and the Bible can feel free to express themselves. I know all too well the challenges that modern parenting presents; I like to form a supportive alliance with caregivers to help them navigate the demands of parenting a child or children with higher needs. I like to focus on parental needs as much as the children's needs, and I work with clients using evidence-based techniques to empower them to achieve balance and experience lasting well-being. In my experience, effective behavior plans that are tailored to the family's specific needs often yield good results, and as the therapist, I'm here to help parents to make sure they are being consistent by tracking their progress in measurable ways. For parents, I'm a big advocate of self-care, and I help my clients learn to nurture themselves in a sustainable way to avoid burnout. I also believe that parents need to feel seen and heard, and the stress of parenting cannot be overemphasized. Forming a partnership with parents, and giving them a forum in which they feel consistently supported in a compassionate and non-judgmental way, therefore, is one of my top priorities as a therapist.
