Hi, I am Diane Smith, a licensed practicing counselor, in Pennsylvania. Congratulations for making the decision to do therapy. I have worked in clinical counseling psychology for 14 years. I love to help people achieve their goals. We all go through difficult times and I am trained to help people overcome obstacles. Together we can work on the issues that are holding you back. It doesn't matter if it's anxiety, depression, you're burned out, poor boundaries, OCD, addictions, relationship issues, grief, and loss you name it we can handle it. You deserve to live your best life. If you are new to therapy don't worry. It's like talking to a good friend who is legally bound to not share a word you say. There are 3 reasons when I am legally bound to report, since I am a mandated reporter, 1. You threaten to kill the president 2. You threaten to harm yourself. 3. You threaten to harm someone else. Also, you won't be judged for anything you tell me. People do what they do for many reasons. Most of my clients say that I am very easy to talk to and that they feel safe sharing with me. I hope that you give me a shot! I look forward to going on a journey with you. FYI*** Please give 24 hours advanced notice if you can not attend an appointment or you will be charged $50.00 Also, If you do not show up for an appointment you will be charged $50.00 as well. I only get my hourly fee if I meet with the client for the allotted time. If the client does not show I don't get paid. Thanks for your time, Diane Smith

I have an LPC and an LMFT and have been seeing clients since 1996. I have extensive training in helping people who are going through or have experienced narcissistic abuse and any form of childhood trauma, this includes verbal and emotional abuse, family addictions, or any early childhood experience that would cause one to feel unsafe. I am also experienced in the treatment of anxiety, worry and mood concerns and work with addictions, obsessive compulsive behaviors and any poor coping skills or core beliefs that were developed in order to manage these stressors. I use practices primarily focused on somatic and cognitive therapy but also utilize acceptance commitment therapy, internal family systems, mindfulness and am solution focused. I use homework and assignments aimed at regulating the nervous system in order to repair the fight/flight/freeze response that is often stuck on due to a continuous history of a variety of life stressors (trauma). This trapped and stored trauma continues to trigger the nervous system to respond in ways where we continue to feel unsafe, even after the threats have passed. By working with the nervous system to release this trapped trauma and find safety, we can then have the opportunity to respond to the world differently.

Seeking counseling can be a overwhelming and anxiety producing experience beyond "the why" of what brought you here. Building a relationship of trust to be vulnerable with a complete stranger is one of the hardest things we can do as humans. Chronic stress from past experiences and intergenerational trauma/stress are often hidden or very present parts of ourselves often creating a tangled web of connection within and attachments with others. In partnership with my clients, I assist them in emerging from within themselves with an increased positive connections, self image, self forgiveness, and a focus on their life goals. When we work together the aim is to assist you in finding balance, clarity and focus for your life goals through a lens of healing.

I have 31 years of experience providing counseling. I use cognitive behavioral therapy, stressing that what we think determines what we feel and what we do. For many reasons, people learn unrealistic or destructive thoughts that cause them problems in their lives. Therapy works towards more realistic thinking, and avoiding old and destructive thinking. As I like to say, "therapy is a conversation with a destination," and realistic thinking is that destination. While I am a Christian, I am not trained as a Christian Counselor. I am a "Counselor who is a Christian." My training is secular, and I regularly see people or all faiths, or none at all. I do not offer court ordered services, nor do I do assessments for custody, or any other legal purpose. Unfortunately, I cannot accept Medicare, or Medicare based plans. The world is changing, and more and more people are reaching out. I am seeing more men that have been in abusive relationships. There are also more people dealing with loss. Coming to my office is not like going to a big mental health clinic where you just another number on a spreadsheet. In my care, you are a person, and you'll be treated like one.

If you are overwhelmed, lost and feeling down, I would like to talk to you about how therapy can benefit you. I use a person-centered, empowerment-focused approach. I believe everyone has strengths and potential to emerge on the other side, given unconditional positive regard. I strive to create a radically safe space in which clients feel seen, heard and validated. My goal to collaborate with you to explore what safe space looks like or means to you in today's world. I meet where the client is, and together we appreciate their needs and know that their needs and feelings do matter. I do require weekly appointment for new clients for 1-2 months depending on the severity of presenting problems. It is difficult to build therapeutic rapport, complete assessments without meeting weekly at least for a month. We may discuss biweekly sessions, and new clients would benefit most from weekly, long-term therapy services in my practice. I specialize in complex PTSD, trauma, depression, anxiety, relationship issues and women's issues. I practice culturally responsive treatment, and intersectionality guides my practice. I am certified in DBT and tailor treatment based on the client's unique presenting concerns and needs, drawing from CBT, DBT, coaching techniques, Solution Focused Approach, Motivational Interviewing, Internal Family System and body-based approach. I have worked in the treatment since i was 36 and have 35 years of experience. My early experience was in the drug and alcohol and relapse prevention field. During that time i attended the Gestalt Institute in Cleveland, Ohio where I took 4 years of intense training. This lead me to find that therapy is not a method for me to figure out the client but a means for the client to gain greater self-awareness in facing their own life aspirations and struggles. I place focus on clients’ somatic awareness, especially breath, so being more in their body so they can try on new physical and intellectual styles in facing their world. I have a lot of knowledge about what is called the 12 step process and have melded together spirituality and religion in my own life. Prior to being a counselor/ therapist i taught school, painted steel bridges and other structures, and was a machinist at a large steel company, that like the many in our area have since closed their shops.

I practice with a humanistic, relational lens, working to build trust in an empathetic, nonjudgmental environment and support you in setting individualized goals to meet your needs. I believe in the importance of self-compassion in fueling personal growth and will work hard to assist you in acceptance of your current state while working to improve your total personhood. I also offer a sliding scale for the uninsured/underinsured, so please contact me at coreenpayne.socialworker@gmail.com if you need this.

Greetings and welcome. My name is Dr. Elizabeth Brillon, DSW, LCSW, C-DBT, CCTP-II and I am an expert in managing anxieties and trauma. Life doesn't seem to work out the way we expect it to, does it? Do you ever feel like sometimes it is just too much to handle? When you pause to take a moment to think, are you pondering why your connections with others aren't allowing you to gain the elements you need to be at peace? This disharmony can be difficult to balance without support. I form partnerships with individuals to identify manifestations of trauma and develop appropriate tools for symptom management. Oftentimes, trauma also goes hand-in-hand with anxiety and depression. I work with committed and motivated learners on the path to move forward on their holistic wellness journey through incorporation of customized tools rooted in evidence-supported interventions. It can feel lonely when you feel overwhelmed by those things in life that you cannot control. You are deserving of peace, safety, and healing in the therapeutic setting. You can look no further if you reach out to me. To properly care for our individual selves, we must nurture both our physical and mental health. Join me for the partnership and we will journey forward collaboratively.
