My name is Joe Stevenson and I am a licensed Professional Counselor and Behavioral Specialist. I received my Bachelor’s degree in Psychology from Slippery Rock University and my Master’s degree in Psychology Counseling from Chatham University, in Pittsburgh, PA. I have been a Counselor in the Pittsburgh area for many years in Community Mental Health working with individuals, youth, and families. I have extensive experience and training with individuals with Asperger's and other developmental issues. I completed training on Addressing the Psychological Health of Warriors and their Families, through the Center for Deployment Psychology. The focus of this training was on: Trauma Sleep disturbance, Traumatic Brain Injury, Suicidal Behavior, Substance Abuse, and Depression.

I am a Licensed Professional Counselor with over 20 years of experience working as a psychotherapist. I have worked with clients with a wide range of concerns including depression, anxiety, relationship issues, parenting problems, career challenges, trauma, substance abuse, and several other life stressors. I am licensed in PA and am a DOT Qualified Substance Abuse Professional (SAP), Certified Employee Assistance Professional (CEAP), and NRC Qualified Substance Abuse Expert (SAE).

I am a Licensed Psychologist who earned a doctorate in clinical psychology from the City University of New York completing internship training at NYU Bellevue Hospital. I began my career as a certified school psychologist in the early 1980 and have been a licensed psychologist since 1995. I have treated a diverse population trained many therapist and psychologists. I believe in the each person drive toward positive mentsl health. I am strength based in my treatment approach, building on the client resiliency.
