I used to be in direct service many years ago and then moved into training EAP providers and offering trainings for Mental Health providers to maintain their licenses, but during the, "Great Hiatus," I saw that people needed help. So I came back to be in the trenches. You are in good hands! I am also a student of positive psychology, but I have the ability to empathize deeply and really be right there with you. Hi. I am an LISW in Ohio and LCSW in North Carolina and received my degree from the University of Southern California. I am a USMC veteran and am also married to an active duty service member. Much of my background is in crisis work and short-term therapy models. I love to focus on ways in which one can make adjustments to their routine and add in healthy coping skills in order to better improve their overall functioning. Solution-focused therapy is what I base most of my treatment on and the goal is for you to feel better and be able to function without support of me!

I am a Licensed Independent Social Worker (LISW) who obtained my master's degree in social work (MSW) from the University of Connecticut in 2013. I started my career in child welfare and animal assisted therapy, and now work with adults ranging from college age to geriatric. The main focus of my practice is in ADHD, as an ADHDer myself, I have a great deal of lived experience as well as training and knowledge on the most recent research. We are learning more and more that ADHD Is not a disorder, but rather another type of brain, and while functioning can be affected (and often is), there is so much potential to be found, and with the right information and guidance, your ADHD brain can thrive! I can be a space for you to process what it means to be ADHD, how it has affected your life, (for good and for bad), and how you can move forward coming from a place of strength and and knowledge.

I have been practicing as a clinical social worker for over thirty years and I have never gotten bored or tired or even considered doing anything else. I am originally from New York State and got my bachelor's degree in English literature at NYU. I took some time off to travel and then settled in Houston, Texas and got my master's degree from the University of Houston. I had extensive psychoanalysis to heal my own wounds prior to becoming a therapist and, after being licensed, I became a therapist, then clinical director, of a psychiatric day treatment center. After about seven years I opened my own private practice office where I saw clients in the evening and, during the daytime, I saw clients who were referred to me for treatment in several independent living and nursing facilities, and at a residential treatment center for adults with schizophrenia and other major mental illness. Since coming to Ohio five years ago I have been in private practice and signed up with Grow Therapy in August of 2023.
