Reaching out for help in the form of therapy is not an easy thing to do as many can attest, but by reading this biography, you are taking the first step in getting help for yourself or a loved one. At times, life offers many struggles and obstacles that can be difficult to overcome alone. Engaging in therapy will provide opportunities to explore and process the thoughts and feelings that prevent you from living your best life. Though the thought of therapy may be intimidating and even nerve-wrecking for some, I believe once a person finds the right therapist, they find a trusting confidant who seeks to understand and problem solve.

Graduating in 2012, I have met with many hundreds of individuals, couples and families using a myriad of different methodologies. What I have learned is that the best way to help a client is to let go of anything you ever learned and connect with the person individual in front of you, not as a client but as a person. In addition, I take a highly biased and slanted bent towards your strengths and qualities with an unhidden agenda of manifesting your individual core beauty. In other words, this is a highly individual journey and the key to enjoying it is through highly colored lenses of your inexhaustible array of qualities. All methodology and techniques fall to the wayside.

Hi, I'm Richelle. I'm a licensed professional clinical counselor with over eight years of experience helping individuals improve their mental health and quality of life. I have worked in a variety of settings, including online therapy. Right now, life may feel hard. You’ve faced many challenges that seemed to have come out of nowhere, and you're constantly doing your best to navigate through them. You struggle to set healthy boundaries and often feel overwhelmed. Asking for help isn't always easy. You may say to yourself, “What will people think? I can figure it out on my own.” It’s tough because you usually go at it alone, carrying the load and bearing the burden. However, deep down inside, you know that something isn't quite right and that you could use some support. Does this sound familiar? As someone who has been there before, I understand how tough it can be to take that first step to reach out. While you may feel like you have to handle everything yourself, these are the times when reaching out for help can give you some direction and help you find your path forward. The truth is, it takes strength and courage to say, “I need help.” And when you do, you'll find that you have the inner strengths and abilities to make meaningful change in your life. Together, we can work to discover those strengths and create a path forward that's tailored to your unique needs and goals.

As a professional mental health counselor specializing in treating anxiety and depression, I provide a comprehensive approach to help prospective clients manage their mental health challenges. My process typically begins with an initial consultation or assessment session, where I create a safe and supportive environment for clients to share their concerns and goals. I employ evidence-based treatments, particularly drawing from Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), which is a form of cognitive-behavioral therapy (CBT). In my sessions, I guide clients through a process of accepting their thoughts and feelings rather than fighting against them. I help them identify their values and commit to actions that align with those values, even in the presence of difficult emotions or thoughts. During sessions, I may utilize various techniques such as mindfulness exercises, experiential exercises, and cognitive restructuring to help clients develop psychological flexibility. This involves teaching them skills to defuse from unhelpful thoughts, increase awareness of the present moment, and take committed action towards meaningful life goals. Additionally, I collaborate with clients to develop personalized treatment plans tailored to their specific needs and circumstances. I may incorporate psychoeducation about anxiety and depression, as well as teach coping strategies and relaxation techniques to empower clients in managing their symptoms outside of therapy sessions. My approach is characterized by empathy, non-judgment, and respect for the individuality of each client. I strive to create a therapeutic alliance based on trust and collaboration, where clients feel understood and supported in their journey towards improved mental well-being.
