# Welcome to The Unraveling Room. For more than 25 years, I have worked in community mental health, crisis intervention, and hospital-based psychiatric practice. I've learned something along the way: **People are complicated.** I'm comfortable there. Maybe your story includes trauma, bipolar disorder, depression, personality disorders, chronic pain, complex medical conditions, or functional seizures (PNES). Maybe you've collected diagnoses, medications, specialists, and years of therapy—and still feel that no one quite understands the whole story. **You are not a diagnosis.** And you are not a problem waiting for the right therapeutic technique. You are a story. I don't fear your anger. Your intensity. Your contradictions. Your messy history. Or the part of your story you've been afraid to say out loud. **Bring it.** I am an active therapist. I listen deeply, but I also ask questions. I notice patterns. I make connections. I challenge when I believe it matters. We may laugh. We may work on practical skills. And sometimes we will sit together with something neither of us can fix. Medication can be an important tool. Medical care matters. When appropriate, I will collaborate with your psychiatric or medical providers. But **the relationship matters.** Twenty-five years of experience cannot replace what happens between two people in a therapy room. And I am not the therapist for everyone. If you want someone to mostly listen, I may not be your therapist. But if you want someone willing to enter the labyrinth with you—to ask difficult questions, follow unexpected turns, and stay when things get uncomfortable—we might fit. Our lives are patterns woven from countless threads. Some we chose. Some were handed to us. Some held us together. Some became knots. **We don't unravel you.** We unravel the pattern. **Bring your story. Bring the threads.** Let's see where they lead.

Vivian Hodges (She/Her) is a licensed independent clinical social worker supervisor. She primarily has experience with adults, college students, and youth experiencing trauma, anxiety, depression, work stressors, and interpersonal/relationship issues. She strongly believes in building a therapeutic relationship through strength-based techniques to empower and create a safe place when exploring current life stressors. Therapy is a place for the brain and body to heal and restore just as you would go to the primary care doctor for a physical check up. Through trauma informed cognitive behavioral therapy, person centered therapy, motivational interviewing, and solution-focused therapy, she will guide her clients on a path of tranquility and healing. She will focus on a holistic approach by providing community based resources to ensure everyone’s basic needs are met during the therapeutic process. When she has free time, she enjoys playing with her two dogs, reading, knitting funky hats, traveling in the US or abroad, and exercising.

As a Reality Therapist, who is also a certified DBT practitioner, I believe we are all responsible for the choices we make. I have worked with people of all ages suffering from alcohol and drug-related addictions, borderline personality disorder, PTSD and other trauma-related disorders, sexual abuse, anxiety, ADHD, and interpersonal problems. My core values are authenticity, transparency, integrity, compassion, and accountability and I operate from a place of moral principle. My purpose is to speak life into others and teach them how to do the same, starting within themselves. When we learn to connect our mind, body, and spirit we can accept things for what they are, people for who they are, and still find harmony within. To me, life is like a roller coaster, and sometimes the only way to enjoy it is to throw your hands up and scream until you find the laughter within. We all suffer. We all have a story to tell. I’m here to listen to yours and help you find the peace that surpasses all understanding because we were never designed to go through life alone. Join me if you want to learn how to take back control of your life and become comfortably uncomfortable. You are unique. You are beloved. You are enough. Hi, I’m Brittany, an LISW in Ohio, wife, and mom of three with a heart for supporting women through the many seasons and transitions of life. I’m especially passionate about women’s and maternal mental health and creating a space where women feel seen, heard, and genuinely supported. I’m the founder of Selah Maternal Wellness, a virtual private practice where I work with women navigating anxiety, stress, overwhelm, life transitions, relationships, identity, pregnancy, postpartum, motherhood, and the everyday challenges that come with carrying so many roles. While maternal mental health holds a special place in my heart, my work is not limited to motherhood. I welcome women in all stages of life who are looking for a space to slow down, reconnect with themselves, build on their strengths, and create meaningful change. My approach is warm, collaborative, strengths-based, and focused on meeting you where you are. I also offer Christian counseling and faith-based therapy for women who would like to incorporate their faith into their healing journey, while always honoring each client’s individual beliefs and preferences. The name Selah reflects much of what I hope to offer through this work—a moment to pause, reflect, breathe, and reconnect. As women, we can spend so much time caring for everyone and everything around us that we forget we need care, too! Beyond individual therapy, I offer local workshops and group sessions to help women and moms connect, learn, and build supportive community. I’m also currently working toward my PMH-C certification to deepen my ability to support women throughout pregnancy, postpartum, and beyond. Whether through individual therapy, faith-based support, workshops, or groups, my hope is for Selah to be a place where women can pause, feel supported, reconnect with who they are, and know they don’t have to navigate life alone.

I grew up in the Cleveland area and then came to Michigan where I completed my Bachelor's degree at Hope College where I studied social work. While in school I completed a field placement working as a probation officer and spent time in Mental Health and Sobriety Treatment Court. After graduation, my now husband and I moved back to Cleveland where I completed my Masters in Social Work with a specialization in Health Studies at Case Western Reserve University. While in school I completed internships with the Cleveland Clinic in their Adolescent Psychiatric Unit as well as an interdisciplinary internship at Care Alliance. Following graduation, I worked in admissions for psychiatric and detox services for six years. I then wanted to expand my skill set and pursued a position providing therapy to health care employees as an EAP counselor at a local hospital system. I found that I really love the opportunity to get to know my clients and to walk alongside them on their journey.

I’m a licensed therapist and the founder of MindfulWayz and The Sanctuary, where I offer a warm, steady, emotionally spacious environment for adults navigating overwhelm, trauma, anxiety, and nervous‑system strain. My work is grounded in presence, curiosity, and respect for each person’s lived experience. I hold space without urgency, without pressure, and without the expectation to move faster than your system is ready for. I work slowly and collaboratively, honoring each person’s pace and the wisdom of their internal timing. My approach weaves somatic awareness, gentle reflection, and mindful pacing to support clients in reconnecting with their inner steadiness and creating a more compassionate relationship with themselves. I integrate trauma‑informed stabilization, parts‑oriented exploration, and nervous‑system regulation practices in ways that feel accessible and choice‑based. Clients often come to me during seasons of transition, exhaustion, or emotional overload — moments when old strategies no longer feel supportive and something quieter, steadier, and more sustainable is needed. Together, we explore what feels tender, what feels possible, and what feels ready, allowing your system to guide the process. My intention is to offer a therapeutic space that feels grounding, inclusive, and deeply respectful of your humanity. A space where you can soften, breathe, and move at a pace that feels safe for your body, your story, and your unfolding.

Welcome! I’m so glad you’ve reached out. I exclusively work with adult women 35+ and would love to connect. Sometimes the deepest wounds are the ones no one else can see. I work exclusively with women 35+ navigating attachment wounds, enmeshment, emotional abuse, chronic invalidation, childhood trauma, estrangement, and painful relationship patterns. Therapy with me isn’t about forcing reconciliation or telling you to “let it go.” It’s about understanding what happened, honoring your experience, processing what you’ve carried, and rebuilding self-trust. Hello, I'm Sarah. I'm a licensed clinical social worker who works with adults virtually in Ohio, Indiana, and Kentucky. We’ll make room for whatever you’re carrying, whether it’s stress, relationship challenges, big life changes, old patterns that keep showing up, or simply the feeling that something needs to shift. I'm happy that you reached out for help, which takes courage and strength. My clients are often people who are doing their best to hold everything together but feel the weight of stress, anxiety, past experiences, or major life changes catching up with them. Many are high‑functioning on the outside yet overwhelmed on the inside. Others are navigating relationship challenges, grief, burnout, identity questions, or a sense that they’ve lost connection with themselves. I work with adults who want support that feels human, compassionate, and practical - not clinical or cold. I will offer a space where you can speak openly, feel understood, and explore what you’re going through without judgment. Together, we’ll identify what’s weighing on you, build on your strengths, and develop practical tools to help you cope, grow, and move toward the life you want. If you’re feeling stuck, tired, or simply ready for something to shift, I’m here to help you take that next step. I’m a husband and dad to three boys (ages 16, 13 and 8), and family is a huge part of my life. We live on a 20-acre homestead where we raise chickens, goats, pigs, and cows, and we spend a lot of time in the garden. Life on the farm keeps me grounded and reminds me daily of the value of patience, hard work, and slowing down to enjoy what really matters. Faith and community are also central for me. I’m actively involved in my church, and I see my work as an extension of that calling to walk alongside others. I’ve always had an entrepreneurial streak. Alongside my therapy work, I am starting a tech start-up, I’ve run an online store, and I even dabble in Bitcoin mining. I enjoy the challenge of building things from the ground up and thinking outside the box. I also read a lot, and my libertarian leanings have been shaped by writers like Murray Rothbard. The conservative/libertarian focus on freedom, personal responsibility and low time preference connects deeply with how I approach life and therapy: we’re at our best when we are free to live with responsibility in society, own our choices, and pursue truth apart from coercion. When it comes to therapy itself, I integrate my faith with practical, proven methods. I use Christian Counseling, CBT, Reality Therapy, Motivational Interviewing, and the Gottman Method to help people grow emotionally, spiritually, and relationally. My goal is to give you a space where your values are respected, your faith is honored, and you feel equipped to face life’s challenges with hope and clarity. If you’re looking for a therapist who understands the importance of faith, family, freedom, and practical tools for change, I’d love to walk with you on your journey.

You might find yourself saying yes when you want to say no, or feeling pulled in different directions, unsure how to move forward. Perhaps you’re navigating difficult relationships, caregiving responsibilities, or a season of life that feels heavier than expected. You don’t have to do it alone. I offer a gentle, supportive space where you can slow down, breathe, and be yourself. Together, we’ll explore what’s weighing on you and reconnect with your strengths. With over 25 years of experience, I’ve worked with children, adolescents, and adults facing trauma, emotional dysregulation, chronic stress, self-harm, and adoption-related concerns. Today, I focus on helping adults build resilience, develop healthier coping strategies, and experience meaningful growth. I hold a Ph.D. in Social Welfare from Case Western Reserve University and am a Licensed Independent Social Worker with Supervisory designation in Ohio. I also teach full-time at Case Western Reserve University, staying closely connected to current research and evidence-based practices. I provide individual therapy and enjoy working with adults who are ready to understand themselves more deeply, shift old patterns, and move toward greater balance. If this resonates with you, I invite you to reach out—I would be honored to support you.

My name is Darcy Smith, and I’m a Licensed Professional Clinical Counselor Supervisor (LPCC-S) in the state of Ohio. I’m from Southern Ohio, and this community has been home for most of my life. I’ve raised my two sons here, who are now 19 and 6, and being able to serve the people and communities I know and love is something I’m genuinely grateful for. My journey in the helping profession began about 16 years ago, when I started working as a Behavioral Rehabilitation Specialist at a short-term substance use treatment facility in West Virginia. That experience sparked a passion for understanding people, their stories, and the things that shape the way we move through the world. I went on to earn an Associate in Arts and Sciences with an emphasis in Social Science and a Bachelor of Arts in Psychology from Ohio University. I then spent seven years working at a local community mental health agency, where I had the opportunity to work with a wide variety of people, diagnoses, and levels of care. While working in the field, I earned my Master of Education in Counseling and Human Development with an emphasis in Mental Health Counseling from Lindsey Wilson University in Kentucky. Over the years, those experiences shaped not only the therapist I wanted to become, but also the kind of space I wanted to create for the people I serve. Eventually, that vision became Soul Oasis Counseling and Psychotherapy Services, where I’m honored to be the owner and primary therapist. I’m grateful to continue doing work I genuinely love and to have the opportunity to walk alongside people as they navigate some of life’s hardest, most confusing, and sometimes most meaningful moments.

I am an highly experienced doctoral-level provider with an Ohio license for clinical psychology. I have been practicing in numerous settings throughout my long career, including working in institutions and in private practice. I am used to effectively treating the vast majority of individuals who walk through my door, giving me a wide-ranging skillset. I am a goal-oriented therapist, and I know that people who are coming to me are often in noteworthy distress, and it is my duty as your doctor to alleviate this distress. Working collaboratively is important, and knowing your goals for therapy is of utmost importance. My standards for myself for you is high; every person will get treatment plan, which is the active steps to alleviate the ailment. I will communicate my diagnosis and the treatment plan I am planning, and will only proceed with your endorsement of the plan. If you come to me with a specific diagnosis, and you do therapy with me and these conditions aren't being alleviated, then we are not meeting the objectives of therapy. If progress does not occur, then efforts will be made to try to discover why progress isn't occurring. Should you still not progress on your goals and diagnosis, I will be open to finding you a provider who might help. Having been a generalist provider, my best skills are for those that present the most in the population, including depression disorders, anxiety disorders, personality disorders and trauma. I employ prolonged exposure as my technique for helping traumatized people, and this would be an excellent treatment for individuals who are new to trauma processing or have failed at EMDR.

My therapeutic approach is warm, collaborative, and down-to-earth. I strive to create an environment where you feel genuinely seen, accepted, and understood. You can show up exactly as you are, without fear of judgment or pressure to have everything figured out. After all, we're only human. I enjoy helping people make sense of their experiences by combining compassion with practical tools and meaningful insight. I'm naturally curious and creative in my thinking, and I often incorporate psychoeducation to help clients better understand the connections between their thoughts, emotions, behaviors, and life experiences. While I take my clients and their struggles seriously, I also believe there is room for humor and lightness in the healing process when the moment calls for it. Whether you're navigating anxiety, depression, trauma, grief, relationship challenges, or a major life transition, my goal is to help you recognize your strengths, build confidence in yourself, and rediscover hope.

Your first therapy session is for you and your therapist to meet each other and to ask any questions that you have about the counseling process. This is where you can expect your therapist to do the same as they will ask questions to gain insight into your specific situation. In this first session the therapist is doing their part to gather as much information so they can better assess if they are able to meet your therapeutic needs. Depending upon your provider's specialty, you may also discuss the methods the therapist will use.
