Well hello! My name is Lori.
Are you feeling the need to live your life differently? Are the things you've tried in the past no longer beneficial or adequate for this stage in your life?
I encourage my clients to do the things that they've never done in order to experience the life they've always wanted. I help them identify the source of what has limited them and caused them emotional pain, whether it be from anxiety or depression stemming from childhood trauma, broken relationships, toxic work environment, sexuality, aging, or religious trauma to name a few.
I enjoy working alongside my clients and being a part of their "aha!!" moments on their life's journey. I utilize my belief in the interconnectedness of humanity with nature to assist my clients in understanding life, growth, change, grace and what constitutes true success.

My name is Jennifer Harelson and I graduated from Louisiana State University and became licensed as a Licensed Professional Counselor in 2004. I have experience working in psychiatric hospitals, behavioral intervention programs and on school and college campuses. I love working with children and young adults, helping them and their families to manage and understand some of the difficult disabilities they may be striving to overcome. I use play therapy as an important therapeutic tool for young children, as they are often able to engage and process their emotions and situations in a more beneficial way through play. Many behavioral and emotional issues are related to depression and anxiety, as well as many problems people have functioning daily. Working together on ways to decrease these symptoms, such as clients providing better self care skills, building strong coping skills and having improved perspectives is essential to a healthier well being. My role as your therapist is that through the supportive and close therapeutic relationship, you will gain insight and motivation to work toward change.

Hi, my name is Luz, my pronouns are she/her/hers, and I am a Licensed Mental Health Counselor (LMHC). I worked as a teacher for over 15 years before making the journey into a community mental health career. I have experience in mobile crisis response, trauma, forensic mental health concerns.
To explain who I am as a therapist, I reflect back to my role as an educator. In the classroom, there was a movement for the teacher to be less of a “sage on the stage” (teacher-centered approach) and more of a “guide on the side” (student-centered). To me, therapy is a lesson plan for a learning experience. It's a guide to develop what the client needs to learn in order to cope with whatever barriers are showing up in the client's life, whether that barrier is an internal issue, such as self-image, or how to cope with work stress.
My therapeutic perspective is to provide empathetic, non-judgmental, compassionate guidance and support in an atmosphere of respect and safety while allowing clients to be the experts of their lives, much like “a co-pilot, a sous chef, or an assistant manager” of a client-therapist relationship. I use solution-focused elements to help move toward desired goals, cognitive behavioral techniques to challenge unhelpful thoughts, and motivational interviewing to help gain understanding and clarity. Outside of traditional therapy, I enjoy the practices of mindfulness, guided meditation, aromatherapy, and Reiki.
Finding a therapist that's the right fit can be a challenging task, but taking that first step towards a healthier you is worth it. I look forward to working with you to help break down those barriers and make progress in areas that most matter to you.

I believe in not just giving ok treatment, but the best available. That’s why I love matching your needs with the best type of therapy that’s also backed up with research to definitely be able to help you. With that, you’re still the expert on you and your life, so you bring your experiences and I’ll bring my knowledge, and together we can figure out how to help you figure out how to get exactly what you’re wanting in life.
I specialize in working with anxieties, depression, trauma, as well as with teens and parents. I’ve worked with kids most of my life in one form or another doing therapy, mentoring, and teaching English abroad. Whatever is bothering you I’m here to help. LGBTQ friendly.
Whatever it is, let me help you, and if there’s something I don’t have the proper expertise in then I also have no problem admitting that and directing you to someone who can help so that you don’t have to waste your time.

Feeling overwhelmed, stressed, and exhausted constantly? Isolated and alone because you don’t want to burden your friends or family with your problems? Or maybe you don’t know quite how to name why you feel this way or how to talk about it. Well, there is the good news - therapy is the place to explore the challenging thoughts and feelings you're having.
I’ve worked in the mental health field since 2016, helping people of all ages, backgrounds, and challenges. I approach mental health challenges with a holistic mindset to help identify what we can change, inside of our control, and to increase reliance. Depression, anxiety, ADHD, and trauma are just a few examples of mental health struggles that impact the way we live and experience the world around us. However, the opposite is also true! Because our lifestyles can influence our ability to tolerate stress and feel good about ourselves. My job as a therapist is to help you work through what is working, and what isn't working, and what we can do about it. I believe by working as a team and supporting you in achieving your goals, you will reconnect with the strength, resilience, and confidence inside you to better manage the ebb and flow of life's challenges.
Why choose me? Well, to help me feel like less of a stranger, here is more detail about my background. I received my Master of Arts in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from Lenoir Rhyne University's Graduate Center of Asheville, NC in December 2020. I hold a Bachelor of Science degree in Psychology from Longwood University in Farmville, VA. I'm a Qualified Mental Health Professional with five years of direct care experience with adolescents in residential treatment. My graduate internship was community and school-based outpatient therapy with Access Family Services. Since August of 2021, I've worked as an outpatient therapist, both in-person and virtually, with a company in the Chapel Hill area. I work with individuals of all ages and presenting concerns, however, I specialize in helping adults resolve issues related to anxiety, depression, suicidality, trauma, ADHD, parenting, life transitions, & relationship challenges. I use evidence-based techniques and practices to support personal growth and development, such as Person-Centered Therapy, Motivational, Interviewing, ACT, CBT, and Mindfulness.

Does the thought of therapy feel boring and pointless to you? Need someone who can help explain what is going on in you brain, how it impacts you, and practical ways to help deal with your challenges (anxiety, depression, OCD, ADHD, conflict, anger, addiction, men's issues, etc)?
My name is Taylor, and I offer Neuroscience Informed Therapy that helps you become the meaningful person you desire to be. I am an integrative therapist, and like to use therapies like ACT (Acceptance and Commitment Therapy), which is the newer wave of CBT (Cognitive Behavioral Therapy), to help you build a new relationship with your brain, nervous system, and internal world. I love working with adolescents, young adults/adults, and families.
As a Christian and Clinical Therapist, I have a unique capacity to help people who come from a Christian background, as well as those that do not. Spirituality can be very beneficial in therapy, but not everyone wants it to be included. When we begin we can determine what's right for you in your journey.
Let's meet up and see if we are a good fit for therapy! If we are, we will set up good goals, go after them, and when we reach those goals we will transition out of therapy. In general, people do not need therapy for their entire life. So let's figure out what we need to do to help you and go after it.

After completing my undergraduate Degree in Media Communications at Asbury University, I spent a year working alongside at-risk youth in inner-city Houston where my desire to become a counselor began. Upon leaving Houston, I moved back Charlotte to be close to family and pursue a Masters In Clinical Mental Health at Gordon-Conwell Theological Seminary. During that time utilized my creative abilities to teach high school photography, full time video edit, and freelance local photography and videography.
Upon graduating with my masters and becoming licensed, I worked in community-based services for more than 4 years, counseling teens and at-risk youth and their families in the Charlotte area. During my time, I gained a wealth of knowledge in clinical care, confidence in myself as a new clinician and, developed a love for in home therapy and higher levels of care. Even though my desire to own my own practice led me to step down fully from community based services, I still continue to clinically lead an intensive in home team with a local organization in Charlotte on my days when I am not in the office.
On the weekends you can almost always find me hanging out with my husband, hiking, eating my way though the city—and making up for it on the Peloton—or constantly laughing at my goofy Sheepadoodle named Pepper—I have high hopes that one day she will be chill enough to be my therapy assistant.
