Throughout my time working in mental health I have worked with clients with mental health issues such as depression, anxiety, mood disorders, PTSD, personality disorders, and substance and alcohol use disorders. I have been trained in many therapy modalities and use these skills to help clients learn coping skills to better manage and cope with daily stress and symptoms they have previously suffered from. I believe change is possible. Using Dialectical Behavioral Therapy skills, I teach clients mindfulness, emotional regulation, interpersonal effectiveness, and distress tolerance. This specific therapy modality was specifically created to help people diagnosed with personality disorders, but I have also found these skills effective in treating a range of other symptoms including anger, depression, anxiety, substance use, mood disorders, self-harming behaviors, trauma responses, and eating disorders. I integrate DBT skills into my client's treatment based on their needs. By learning these helpful and healthy coping skills I have witnessed my clients learn to not only manage their lives better but thrive in life.

My career started in Pennsylvania where I attended Chestnut Hill College and received my Master's in Counseling Psychology, Marriage and Family Therapy Option. It continued in upstate Pennsylvania and New York where I attended SUNY University of Buffalo and received my Master of Social Work Degree. I capped those off with a Psy.D. from Cal Southern University, Magnum Cum Laude 2012. I hold an LCSW in PA, VA, NC, TX, and LI. I hold an LISW-CP in South Carolina, and LICSW in RI and MA.
